𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 45-𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 Nigerdock has signed a 45-year concession agreement with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for the development of Snake Island Port, an 85-hectare multipurpose facility within Snake Island Integrated Free Zone. Approved by the Federal Executive Council in 2023, the project is expected to attract $1 billion in foreign direct investment and enhance Nigeria’s role in global trade. Nigerdock CEO Maher Jarmakani highlighted the collaboration as a boost for Nigeria’s maritime industry and blue economy, while NPA Managing Director, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding port capacity and fostering public-private partnerships. STRENGTHENING OUR PRESENCE ACROSS AFRICA AND BEYOND 2024 saw DGC Africa significantly expand its operations, both regionally and internationally: In South Africa, we enhanced accessibility by establishing regional hubs and collaborated with UXi Artisan Development to provide advanced skills training, achieving an 87% employment rate among graduates. Across Sub-Saharan Africa, partnerships in Zimbabwe, Madagascar, the DRC, and Zambia have strengthened local economies while delivering tailored industrial solutions. Globally, our entry into South America through DGC LATAM in Brazil marked a major milestone, allowing us to bring our expertise in Refractory Services and Asset Integrity Management to a new market. ZM: ZCA, LCCI Forge Alliance to Boost Trade and Investment The Zambia Chinese Association (ZCA) and the Lusaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) have inked a corporation agreement aimed at enhancing trade and investment opportunities. The signing ceremony, held at the ZCA offices in Lusaka, marked a new chapter of collaboration between the two business entities.

Chipata Mayor George Mwanza recently met with USAID/Zambia Accelerating Transparency and Integrity (ZATI) Activity, Open Ownership, and the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) at his office. KEPSA PARTNERS WITH EABC TO HOLD THE NATIONAL CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON EXPORT READINESS UNDER AFCFTA Yesterday, KEPSA, in collaboration with the East African Business Council (EABC), the African Organization for Standardization (ARSO), and GIZ commenced a two-day Private Sector National Capacity Building Workshop at the Nairobi Safari Club. This workshop aims to enhance awareness and capacity regarding the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)Protocol on Trade in Goods, specifically the SPS and Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) annexes.   The agreement establishing AfCFTA aims to create a single market connecting approximately 1.4 billion people with a GDP of about USD 3 trillion, driving sustainable growth and regional integration. Update on Eco-Industrial Parks in Rwanda 🌿🏭 Following up on my previous post about working with authorities in Kigali https://lnkd.in/eAsGEZvd, I'm thrilled to share that we had incredibly productive discussions with the Rwanda Ministry of Trade and Investment (MINICOM) on incorporating the International Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) Framework https://lnkd.in/e2pfbGA8 into the design of the industrial parks within the Kigali Logistics Platform (KLP) project. Aligning these industrial parks with the EIP Framework is crucial for several reasons: 1. EIPs promote cross-industry collaboration and community engagement, leading to improved economic, social, and environmental performance. 2. Adopting EIP principles helps attract investors seeking high environmental, social, and governance standards. 3. EIPs contribute to Rwanda's green growth strategy and support the country's climate action commitments. 4. The framework provides a roadmap for transitioning from conventional industrial parks to eco-friendly, sustainable EIPs.
