✈️ Aero Excellence International association is established to develop supply chain resilience for growth ✈️ ❗️On 26th November in Munich, leading global aerospace trade associations ADS, GIFAS, and BDLI formalised the establishment of the Aero Excellence International association. This initiative seeks to bolster supply chain resilience by implementing a new and universal standard of operational excellence, for the aerospace, defence, and space sectors. 📣Colin Turner, CEO of WEAF, commented: “WEAF welcomes the announcement on Aero Excellence International and the initiative’s commitment to building upon the successes achieved in collaboration with SC21 and Supply Chain Solutions (SCS). Brazilian defence prime Embraer signed an MoU with the Austrian Industrial Cooperation & Aviation Technology (AICAT) on 18 April in an attempt to enhance international cooperation in the aerospace sector. The two parties will explore opportunities for joint research and technology development and will determine how Austrian industry can contribute to the supply chain of Embraer’s aircraft programmes. According to Reinhard Marak, CEO of AICAT, “an intensified cooperation with Embraer is a great opportunity and will help both Embraer and the Austrian aeronautical sector, creating a more structured collaboration for their mutual benefit.” This cooperation will add to Embraer’s existing relationships in Austria. The two counties entered into bilateral cooperation activities and joint research projects in 2019. In September 2023, Austria selected Embraer’s C-390 airlift to replace its C-130K Hercules. "From Toowoomba to the World" Assuming most of our readers have never been to Toowoomba (we haven't either...yet), here's a glimpse of it's significance to the future of public-private innovation: It's the site of a collaborative R&D facility between Boeing Defense and the Australian industrial base! This is most significant because of a major program that Boeing has been developing for years called the MQ-28 Ghost Bat, which is an uncrewed aerial vehicle about the size of a small private plane. Besides the platform itself being part of major international technology campaigns to develop state-of-the-art Aerospace capabilities in human-machine teaming, it serves as a model for developing critical technology (1) across economic alliances and (2) in compliance with strict technology export regimes. So, while the platform is only still in early flight testing, the groundwork is being done (literally) to institutionalize such a model for international collaboration on future-defining technologies. https://lnkd.in/gTjP6vPs
