When prospects ask you a question, wouldn’t it be nice to know their true intention? 💬 Here’s what you can do to get it: Reversing ⏪ It’s about answering a question with a question. For example, a prospect says of your competitor XYZ, “We’ve been working with XYZ Company since my parents started the business nearly 50 years ago.” Does that statement mean: 👉 “I’m looking for a brand-new solution?” 👉 “I’d never even consider changing such a longstanding family tradition?” 👉 “I’m so glad you came along, because I didn’t know there were any alternatives?” You have no idea. So ask. First discover the intent of the statement. You do this by asking questions like: 👉 You are telling me that because…? 👉 OK, but that means what? 👉 And…? 👉 Such as…? By adopting this technique, you ensure that the real roadblocks are uncovered and dealt with.
