Education is the key to unlocking a brighter future, but for Maha Dalit children in Bihar, it remains a distant dream. Despite efforts to improve access to education, these children continue to face significant barriers, including: Limited access to schools and educational resources Discrimination and social exclusion Poverty and economic inequality Limited awareness and support for their educational needs As a result, Maha Dalit children are more likely to drop out of school, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and inequality. But there is hope! By providing access to quality education, we can empower Maha Dalit children to break free from the shackles of poverty and discrimination. Let us work together to: Create awareness and advocate for the educational rights of Maha Dalit children Support initiatives that promote inclusive and equitable education Together, we can create a brighter future for Maha Dalit children in Bihar and help them reach their full potential! #EducationForAll #MahaDalitEmpowerment #BrighterFuture"

📚 Today, on World Day Against Child Labour, let's shine a light on a crucial issue: the right to education for every child. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive without the burden of child labour. At Ekam Foundation Mumbai, we believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future. Most of the children we support through Ekam’s EEP program suffer from constant pressure created by the burden of poverty, which results in young children needing to discontinue school, taking up jobs in so-called ‘non-hazardous’ areas just to keep their family afloat. That's why we're committed to providing support through scholarships and funding educational expenses of underprivileged children, especially girls, who are at risk of dropping out of school due to economic hardships. Education empowers children to break the cycle of poverty, pursue their dreams, and build a better tomorrow for themselves and their communities. Together, let's ensure that every child has the chance to receive a quality education and reach their full potential. 📝🎓 #EmpowerChildren #RightToEducation #ChildrenInSchool #ChildrenInIndia #YouthOfIndia #IndianStudents #IndianEducationSystem #EmpowerAdolescents #MumbaiNGO #EducationNGO #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour

Childhood is a time not for earning, but for learning 📚 While much progress has been made globally in reducing child labour over the years, the recent years with the COVID19 pandemic, conflicts and crises did undo and reverse a lot of the progress made. Today one in ten children worldwide is still engaged in child labour due to abject poverty. Every child has the right to health, education and protection, and the measure of true social progress is whether children are afforded the opportunities to a bright future. Since 2007, Chinmaya Vidyalaya New Delhi provides free education to 25% of students under the Right to Education. It is time to come together as a society to make the elimination of child labour a reality. #ChinmayaVidyalayaNewDelhi #ChinmayaVidyalaya #SchoolsWithADifference #ChinmayaVidyalayaVasantVihar #SchoolWithADifference #IndianEducation #EducationIndia #BestSchoolsDelhi #SWADSchools #IndianSchools #QualityEducation #ValueBasedEducation #ChildLabour #StopChildLabour #ChildLabourLaws #WorldDayAgainstChildLabour #RightToEducation

Education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty, uplift communities, and create a brighter future for India. Yet, millions of marginalized children in rural areas, urban slums, and underserved communities are still denied this fundamental right. Read about what UNDP in India is doing to help marginalized communities access government welfare schemes, educate their children, and break the curse of intergenerational poverty. #EducationForAll #EqualOpportunities #InclusiveGrowth #FutureOfIndia #ChildrensRights #SocialJustice #EducationMatters #SDGs https://lnkd.in/gJSA4JY9

It seems funny to me how the government of India would be keen on coming up with schemes like the midday meal program. This scheme is apparently supposed to provide an incentive for a child from a poor household to attend school. However, it may not provide enough incentive for teachers to teach and may encourage the few available teachers to focus more on monitoring the meals being served rather than teaching. Enrollment numbers may look good for a few years, but the learning levels for children in India are alarmingly low. #poverty #education #school

Assam is in the midst of an education crisis, with dropout rates in primary schools soaring to 6.02% and 8.82%, nearly 4x the national average. Over 100,000 children remain out of school, many of them from marginalized communities impacted by poverty, teacher shortages, and recurring disasters. Amid these challenges, Snehjori, led by Ms. Reshma Begum, is igniting hope in Jalukbari. Their transformative programs—library outreach, early childhood education, and disaster relief efforts are equipping children of migratory workers with the tools to not just learn but lead their communities toward progress. #EducationForAll #Empowerment #SocialImpact #LeadershipThroughEducation #Assam #JaiHindProject Vineet K. Two of our volunteers are helping our partner defy generational poverty via quality education! Meet our partner Self Reliant India(SRI), an organization dedicated to improving access to education and reducing dropout rates by helping children from financially disadvantaged families enroll in residential schools (like JNVs). SRI’s vision is to build a self-reliant future for these families by involving communities, teachers, and parents in the education process. To realize their vision of sending 50,000 children to residential model schools over the next 10 years, they need more inputs and more research, and that’s exactly where we come in. We are partnering with them on a Research Project. Our skilled volunteers, Maitreyee Mukherjee (An Analyst with 3+ years of experience) and Namrata Gogoi (A Policy Researcher with experience in the education space) will be leading the project, researching and mapping residential model schools nationwide, helping them grow their initiative even further. If you’re interested in making an impact through similar projects, reach out to us via the link in the comments! #WeDoGood #Impact #Education #Volunteer #Consulting #Research

In rural India, a troubling trend is emerging - an increasing number of boys are dropping out of school prematurely. Despite strides in education accessibility, only 35% of boys attend school regularly compared to 65% of girls in districts like Kishanganj. The discussions with the principals, teachers and boys brought up many issues. This reverse dropout trend is a cause for concern and requires urgent attention. Economic Imperatives: Financial constraints often force boys to leave school and contribute to family income through labor or farming activities. Many rural children aged 6-14 attend private schools, posing a financial burden for many families. Consequently, many boys are compelled to abandon their studies to contribute to household income through labor or farming activities. Inadequate Infrastructure: Lack of proper facilities and qualified teachers in rural schools hampers the quality of education.Without proper facilities and competent instructors, the learning environment becomes subpar, leading to disengagement and eventual dropout among students, particularly boys. Poverty and Societal Pressure: Societal expectations and economic pressures drive boys into labor or early marriages, perpetuating the cycle of poverty and denying them educational opportunities. Some boys expressed feeling compelled to support their families from a young age, sacrificing their education in the process. Limited Awareness and Accessibility: Many rural areas lack awareness about the importance of education, and limited access to transportation further restricts children's ability to attend schools located farther away. This disproportionately affects boys from marginalized communities. The Way Forward: Addressing the dropout crisis requires a holistic approach. Governments, NGOs, and community-based organizations must collaborate to improve school infrastructure, provide financial assistance to needy families, and raise awareness about the importance of education. Additionally, vocational training programs can offer alternative pathways for boys who are unable to continue formal education. #Bringboysbacktoschools
