We are thrilled to announce our $50,000 Matching Gift Challenge – our largest #GivingTuesday match ever! DOUBLE your impact by giving today to help animals in need at https://lnkd.in/gZ_wkyaW Join us next week on December 3rd for #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving! We will share heartwarming stories of animals like Tunnel Bob, a unique kitty who needed surgery to fix a medical condition he was born with. “I saw his one-of-a-kind face on the website and knew he was mine,” says Hailey, a community member who adopted Tunnel Bob. He came to DCHS from Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC). He was born with a condition called eyelid agenesis, which means part of his eyelids did not develop before birth. His eyelashes and fur rubbed on his sensitive eyes, which caused chronic irritation and could potentially lead to ulcers, and his inability to blink caused his eyes to dry out. The poor kitty faced daily discomfort. MADACC didn’t have the capacity to manage Tunnel Bob’s complex medical issues, which would require a surgical procedure and follow-up exams. Fortunately for him, DCHS did. Read Tunnel Bob’s full story and give now through Tuesday to double your impact and give second chances to animals just like him: https://lnkd.in/ghQWDJDe Learn more about the incredible donors who are giving you the chance to make double the impact for pets, livestock, and wildlife at DCHS at https://lnkd.in/gMwQPKHa

The sounds of shrieking agony are forever burned into my brain. I'm ashamed to say I was the one causing those heart-wrenching sounds. My name is Anthony Bellotti. 29 years ago, I worked in an ANIMAL TESTING lab. And that day, I swore an oath to deliver a devastating blow to the butchers and bureaucrats in white lab coats who prey on animals in the name of "science." My life's mission is to expose and close the U.S. government's $20B animal testing business, ONCE AND FOR ALL! That's why I founded White Coat Waste (WCW)—the most effective group at getting animals out of labs. Our strategy is effective: Stop the Money. Stop the Madness! We've saved, rescued & impacted 29K lives. We've cut $99M+ & closed 114 labs—more than any animal protection organization. 🐶 ENDED all Veterans Affairs labs (220 killed/yr. Now it's 0). 🐒 CLOSED FDA's #1 lab (200 abused/yr. Now it's 0). 😻 SHUT DOWN NIH's lethal lab & breeding colony. (100+ abused/yr. Now it's 0). I just adopted one of the cat survivors. Here's a photo from the exact moment I met "Marigold" (formerly Govt ID #11-245). But I can't do it alone. Unfortunately: - Our fundraising from wealthy donors is way down - We lost a major foundation partner (a six-figure grant maker de-funded us) - Our bills are higher than ever. This year, expenses will probably rise 38.7% So please, on GIVING TUESDAY, we're humbly asking all our grassroots supporters to chip in $5 or even $10: https://lnkd.in/exAC-qGC ⏰ Rush your best gift before 11:59 pm to support all our effective campaigns! stop=end

🐶 Stepping In to Stop the Cycle – 100 Lives, Countless Futures Saved 🚑 On Monday, we launched an urgent offensive against the relentless tide that is pet overpopulation. Today, the fight continues. The numbers don’t lie. Last year alone, 23,621 unwanted and stray animals found their way to our doors. We are in crisis and animals are too! With 89.6% of animals counted during our census in Langa being unsterilised, the number of homeless, hungry, and neglected animals will inevitably skyrocket unless we act now. We refuse to do nothing while unchecked breeding forces a compassionate euthanasia burden on us that we have no desire to carry. We’re back in Langa today and we’re hoping that by the end of the day, we will have sterilised at least 100 animals at our Civic Hall field hospital. When animals are unwanted, they suffer. We see this every day and so every animal sterilised is a victory in our battle against both cruelty and pet overpopulation. We’re changing the narrative, one animal at a time, and we won’t stop until every animal is wanted, every animal has a home and not one healthy animal faces euthanasia. The battle is far from over, we can only win with your support, your donation, your voice. Please step in with us to stop the suffering. We can’t rescue our way out of an animal overpopulation crisis, but we can sterilise our way to a solution, we just can’t do it without you. DATA RELEASE: ANIMAL WOUND MANAGEMENT USING ALTRAZEAL At the 2024 Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) Fall, Cindi Scheib, BSN, RN, and Susan Rolniak St. John, MSN, APRN-NP, presented a case series evaluating Altrazeal’s effectiveness in animal wound management. Altrazeal was applied on 13 animals with full thickness wounds including cats, dogs and horses. Frequency of dressing changes with Altrazeal reduced to once every 7.6 days versus daily changes with standard of care. All wounds healed and no complications were observed.
