EIT Food Inspire Impact Training: My Contribution to the Future of Food Systems Recently, I successfully completed the Inspire Impact training program offered by EIT Food, Europe’s largest food innovation community. This program provides a comprehensive learning experience aimed at developing critical skills and generating innovative solutions to help shape the future of our food systems. Throughout the training, I had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the global challenges facing the food sector. Key topics such as sustainable agriculture, eco-friendly food production, the circular economy, and raising consumer awareness were covered in detail. Moreover, the program was not limited to theoretical knowledge; it emphasized developing innovative projects and solving real-world problems. This experience allowed me to better understand the importance of collaboration and innovation among all stakeholders in the food chain. I was inspired to create innovative approaches that can make food systems more sustainable and inclusive. The EIT Food Inspire Impact training was more than just an educational journey—it has been a significant source of motivation for my future career goals and my desire to contribute to society. I look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I gained from this program to help build a more sustainable and equitable food system.

📜 How I Earned Myself a Name🚜 So some time November last year, in my pursuit for knowledge and expertise in my field and passion agriculture, I decided that in the year 2024, I will dedicate myself to activate learning both online and offline. Which I normally post on my socials. Surprisingly my name changed (even when I didn't take it likely, in my mind I just want to grow and be better) It all started as a playful joke in my faculty when I became known as the Certificate Man, Mr. Certificate, and even Certificate Lord(Billion Certificate 😅), Why? Because I constantly shared updates about the courses I was taking on my social media pages. But behind those nicknames was a story of passion, resilience, and an unyielding hunger for knowledge. Agriculture has always been more than a career path for me, it’s my calling. To truly master my field, I set a personal goal to earn 20 certifications. But as I dove deeper, curiosity took over, and I exceeded my target, earning over 25 certifications in key areas like soilless farming, value chain management, climate-smart agriculture, mechanized farming, and agricultural data analysis. This journey was not easy. It required and I have dedicated over 1,000 hours of intense learning, late nights, and balancing studies with other commitments. Yet, every hour was worth it. Beyond the certificates themselves, I gained skills, experiences, and knowledge that will remain with me for a lifetime. But what fills me with even greater pride is the ripple effect this journey created. My dedication inspired my peers, colleagues, and even senior students to pursue courses and expand their knowledge. I see us all winning today, and it brings me immense joy to know that I played a part in motivating others to go the extra mile, a trailblazer you would say right 😁 This journey has taught me that success isn’t just about reaching a goal, it’s about surpassing it while lifting others along the way. Transforming Education into Enjoyment : Buhler African Milling School Bühler! At first, this word might not mean much to you but given that millions of people interact with Bühler’s technology daily, it’s worth a moment’s pause. Iwon’t dive into the hundreds of products and sectors Bühler operates within just one: food! Bühler, a Swiss-based company with over 160 years of innovation, represents a remrkable union of steel and wheat. Calling it the "university of wheat" isn't an exaggeration. More than 65% of the world’s wheat encounters Bühler’s advanced, precision driven machinery. And it doesn’t stop at wheat Bühler’s influence extends to rice, barley, oats, coffee, cocoa, corn, peas, beans, and pulses, just to name a few. One especially impactful aspect of Bühler’s commitment to food security and industry training is the African Milling School (AMS) in Nairobi, Kenya. This school holds great significance, not only for Bühler but for Africa as a whole. AMS addresses a major skills gap in grain milling across the continent, fostering food security and quality, supporting local economies, and promoting sustainable and efficient milling practices. I’ve had the privilege of training professionals there on Sortex® ® optical color sorters, meeting beautiful individuals from across Africa all passionate about learning and growth. Having grown up in a family of educators, I’m deeply committed to the value of learning and sharing knowledge. Education is a powerful tool that not only equips people with skills but also empowers them to shape their communities. Over the years, I’ve travelled around the world, training people on a variety of technical and non-technical topics. For me, education is about creating lasting knowledge, inspiring curiosity, and building confidence. Through it all, I’ve held to one guiding principle: learning should be enjoyable! I measure the success of my training not by how much information I convey but by how much knowledge stays with my audience and how much fun we share in the process. Today, I’m sharing it in memory of Westley, a valued AMS team member in Nairobi, who we recently lost. His contributions live on in our memories and the impact he made on all of us.
