Reflections on Days 2 & 3 of NetworkX Paris: Innovation, Networking, and New Horizons The second and third days of NetworkX in Paris were packed with back-to-back meetings, leaving little room to pause for updates. However, the wealth of insights and connections made these intense days incredibly rewarding. On the AI front, we saw exciting new use cases that continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible. The story of AI in telecom is evolving rapidly, and today’s sessions gave us a glimpse of the next wave of applications that will shape our industry. The networking opportunities were equally valuable. From OEMs to SoC vendors and fellow carriers, it felt like a reunion with a tech family. The exchange of ideas and discussions on current challenges and innovations highlighted just how interconnected our ecosystem has become. And sorry to everyone I could not talk to in this short time. One standout topic was the innovation in hardware, particularly the fancy new antenna designs for WiFi and a rotating Wi-Fi socket device—these small innovations could have a big impact on user experiences. Despite the heavy rain (and some flooding!) on the way home, I’m grateful to have been inside, discussing the future of connectivity. One conversation that stood out was the revival of Fiber to the Room (FTTR). It may not be in the spotlight as much as it once was, but it’s certainly not dead. Looking ahead, Wi-Fi 8 is on the horizon. My prediction for next year? It will dominate the discussions and exhibits at the next NetworkX, showcasing the future of wireless connectivity. #networkx2024 #kaon #wifi8
