To ensure "a safe future of prokaryotic nomenclature", the LPSN are calling for the signing and sharing of a petition to support the "Best of Both Worlds" approach proposed by Arahal et al. Excited to announce that my latest paper comparing the Cu,Zn-MT species forming in the three major human metallothionein isoforms has been published in Metallomics! We use isotopically pure 63Cu(I) and 68Zn(II) and a combination of experimental ESI-MS and simulated mass spectra to determine the exact metal composition of each species. No isoform was found to be more optimized for Cu(I) binding over another. https://lnkd.in/gTZaJYJd
