Rosetta Languages is looking for a couple more interpreters to join our telephonic team! This is freelance work that is paid by the minute of call time ($1.00/minute). We are looking for people with a lot of availability to take calls during weekdays and who want to work from home. The languages we have most need for are Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish. If you speak one of these languages and some other languages too, that's even better! Priority is given to folks who are local to the communities we serve (Malden, Somerville, Cambridge, and the greater Boston area). Is this you? - You're an active listener. When someone's speaking, you listen to parse the essential elements of their message. You are also tuned in to the subtle clues in their word choice and tone of voice that help you understand the whole story. - You're a clear communicator. In all your working languages, you are able to convey information effectively to your listeners. You have a wide vocabulary but are comfortable using simple language when it is more effective. You ask clarifying questions when necessary. - You're an advocate. When you take a call from someone, they can count on you to get them the help they need. You won't let them down. - You're responsive. Calls coming in at random times? That's your game. You are comfortable using WhatsApp to communicate with the rest of the team. - You're kind.
