Slovakia produced the most electricity from nuclear power in history 👇 Slovenské elektrárne, a.s., produced 21,659 gigawatt-hours of electricity in 2023 and delivered 19,570 GWh to the network after deduction of own consumption. Production was helped by the start-up of the third Mochovce unit, but also by the reliable operation of other nuclear units and better hydrometeorological conditions, favorable for hydropower plants. Thanks to these two emission-free sources – nuclear and water, the largest electricity producer in Slovakia supplied up to 96.5% of its electricity without CO2 emissions. Five nuclear units - three in Mochovce and two in Jaslovské Bohunice - produced 18,344 GWh last year. They delivered almost 16,967 GWh to the network. It is more than in 2006, when two blocks of the older Bohunice nuclear power plant V1 were also in operation. Year-on-year growth in the production of nuclear power plants is due to the third block in Mochovce, thanks to which Slovak households have electricity under predictable and extremely favorable conditions. The record nuclear result was positively influenced by the increase in the efficiency of the units (2020 and 2021) and the reconstruction of the cooling towers (2022 and 2023) in Mochovce. https://lnkd.in/deWNUGVD

The plan should ensure that nuclear power plays the role of a base load while minimizing environmental impact. Each market has its particularities: in Germany there is a tendency to have more virtual general meetings and the trend is criticized, especially by individual investors that do not have other events to join for discussing with the management and with members of the boards. In Romania there are many general meetings taking place in same time in different places (cities) without webcasting offered. There is room for improvement and investors are expecting listed companies to adapt the dates and times in order to give them the opportunity to join the meetings, in-person or remotely. However, shareholder engagement is covered better by listed companies comparing with last years.

Today, I coordinated the meeting between the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Directorate-General for the Implementation of the NRRP and Financial Instruments from Ministerul Investițiilor și Proiectelor Europene to support the implementation of an important nuclear safety project for Romania by Societatea Nationala Nuclearelectrica SA. The Fund of Funds for digitalization, climate action and other areas of interest (Investment 2.4. of Component 9/NRRP) is coming to aid companies like SN Nuclearelectrica to invest in strategic and beautiful projects for our country, highlighting Romania's commitment to transitioning towards a circular economy and showcasing innovative technology. 🔄 #nuclearsafety #climateaction #NRRP
