🌟 Wrapping up a meaningful week at the Singapore FinTech Festival! 🌟 Last week’s conference was packed with insights, leadership dialogues, and exclusive networking at the Insights Forum, where regulators, policymakers, industry leaders, and investors gathered. I participated in some key panel discussions and roundtables discussing key opportunities, enablers and challenges in scaling financial services for SMEs: 💡The new world of data: Challenges and opportunities for the payment ecosystem and fintechs. We must solve for data poor SMEs!  💡A trillion-dollar opportunity in supply chain financing for SMEs—a transformative path for driving efficiency and inclusive growth. SCF for SMEs needs to size up to its potential! 💡The Financial Trust and Digital Assets connecting global economies, and opening up new avenues for SMEs to expand their businesses, across borders! 💡SMEs & Global Commerce - Unlocking opportunities from digital trade rules. With trade finance for SMEs fast evolving, we need to leverage the momentum to make payments efficient and cost effective.    We also benefited from forward looking discussions on AI and Quantum Technologies, Security and Privacy, Sustainability and Innovation Ecosystems, Digitized Financial Markets, and the role of Fintechs and Digital Banks which could have a meaningful role in changing the landscape of financial services for SMEs. One of the highlights of Day 1 of the ongoing Singapore FinTech Festival 2024 was Ravi Menon sharing about the global vision and remit of the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) for the next phase of the growth in Fintech. Over the last decade, Singapore has established itself as a fintech hub through the development of a regulatory sandbox framework, establishing cross-border payment linkages, piloting digital assets and tokenization and more! The key question in everyones mind was What Next? What is the next phase of evolution for the coming decades? As always, Singapore plans ahead and GFTN provides the framework for what lies ahead in terms of the Asian nation taking a global leadership position in the fintech world through: 👉 Convening global forums and conventions to catalyze conversations amongst the key stakeholders in the world of fintech. 👉 Offering practioner-led advisory services and research on innovation policies and ecosystems. 👉 Providing digital platforms for national infrastructure and to SMEs to forge closer collaborations between FinTech and financial institutions. 👉 Infusing capital to fund startups that have the potential for sustained growth and social impact.
