Common Thread ’s Post

We are basking in all the buzz about our newest magazine with UNICEF — an 88-page exploration of Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) entitled, “Why don’t you just behave!” because for too long this has been the mentality in development. This magazine explores the unravelling of that thinking and the growing embrace of something more community-led, evidence-informed, people-centred, equity-driven, bottom-up, de-colonial — need we say more? Of course. And we have. We filled the magazine with case studies, perspectives and lessons learned from people all over the globe who have been applying SBC, advocating for it, and uncovering its potential to respond to the challenges that lie ahead. See it for yourselves at https://lnkd.in/g5cfsYSU This magazine would not be possible without the many voices—dissenting, deliberating, and all—that went into every page. Thank you to the brilliant authors and contributors for turning their wisdom into words. Thank you to our editorial team Vincent Petit, Massimiliano Sani, Audrey Franchi, Sherine Guirguis, Jim (James) O'Neill, Regina Madanguit and Olivia Hough for turning those words into engaging articles for all audiences. Thank you to our creative director Jim and our designer Katrina Varlam and Illustrators Anastasia Cherepanova, Misha Gusev, Katya Murysina, Oleg Borodin, and Tatiana Komarova for injecting awe into every spread. Thank you Ola Alhaj and Mogesh Sababathy as well as the children and young people who shared their deep frustrations and wildest aspirations in the magazine. Thank you to the team at UNICEF for entrusting our team to bring their dream report to life. And finally, thank you to everyone who has shared, read, recommended, questioned and critiqued it — any publicity is good publicity if it means SBC is being talked about, explained, understood, and made better. #SocialBehaviouralChange #SBC #MagazineLaunch #OrganisationalChange #HCD #HumanCentredDesign #SocialSciences #BehaviouralScience
