🌍 Over 473 million children—more than 1 in 6 children globally—are now living in areas affected by conflict. The rights violations these children endure, especially girls, are heart-wrenching: ⚠️ Death and injury 💔 Rape and sexual violence 🍎 Malnutrition 💉 Lack of access to essential health care, including maternal care and vaccines 📚 Severe disruptions to education and learning This cannot be the new norm. 🚨 #ProtectChildrenInConflict We must unite to reverse this trend and ensure the EU Guidelines on Children and Armed Conflicts are at the heart of EU diplomacy and actions. 💪💙 🔗 Read more: 👉 https://lnkd.in/efci425i 👉 https://lnkd.in/egbV7Rej

Understanding the obstacles faced by stateless children has been occured since decade. The roles played by stakeholders indeed a prominent action, ensuring the policy used has given the targeted communities a better life and safe from any hazardous circumstances. Not to mention child labor in the palm oil sectors, children in every places received a massive constraint regardless any kind of sectors across the nation. People in the policy-making was created a top-down approach for a better implementation on the ground. The question is, the numbers of stateless population are keep growing every years. why? is it because of security? ineffective policy (top-down)? Do they conduct a regular assessment on the policy implementation plan to the society? Instead of using the same methodologies, identifying the main factors is the key elements in creating a better approaches to the society. It was a wonderful discussion and exchanging the idea with the expert person. Thank you for the opportunity given Dr Elaine Kong and we look forward for the outcome ahead #EducationforAll #NoChildIsIllegal #CahayasocietyxUNICEF

Youth Citizen Observers Network Clarification regarding the inclusion of the Youth Citizen Observers Network name in the memorandum signed by several civil society organizations on November 16, 2024. The Youth Citizen Observers Network has read a memorandum signed by several Sudanese civil society organizations dated 16 November 2024 entitled "Joint forces must end military presence in Zamzam camp" indicating the presence of military forces and weapons inside Zamzam camp for displaced people south of El Fasher city in North Darfur state. The network was surprised to find its name among the organizations that signed the memorandum, as the network had no relation with this memorandum and was not part of the process of drafting or signing it. We the Youth Citizen Observers Network would like to emphasize that we are an independent network that monitors the situation in Sudan and conveys the repercussions of the war according to a clear and unbiased methodology for either party to the conflict, and we publish our reports based on high-accuracy information collected by highly qualified field observers and edited by an integrated technical team, and we do not participate in biased advocacy campaigns, or publish information without verifying its credibility, and therefore we would like to clarify the followings: 1. The network has no connection to the published memorandum and has never signed it or passed through its official channels. 2. The Network denies its relationship with the memorandum and its present and future consequences. 3. The Network will investigate to uncover the entity/person who signed this memorandum on its behalf and legal action will be taken. 4. The positions of the network are expressed through its reports, and its orientations and mechanisms of action are found on its website. Older people make up a disproportionate number of civilian deaths and injuries in the war. (United Nations Human Rights) On #InternationalDayOfOlderPersons, we highlight the urgent need to protect the elderly in war zones. This year’s theme, “Ageing with Dignity,” calls for stronger care systems to safeguard the rights and well-being of older people—especially those enduring conflict. From #Yemen to #Sudan and #Ukraine, older people are being affected by violence. Many face summary execution, abduction, or are trapped in war-torn areas unable to flee. When they manage to escape, they often face further challenges—discrimination, inadequate housing, and a lack of #healthcare, especially for those with disabilities. At #MOAS, we are responding to this crisis. The Mobile Medical Unit in #Ukraine provides critical healthcare to elderly individuals and communities cut off from medical facilities. We must protect the lives of older people in conflict zones around the world, ensure their voices are heard, and their rights are defended. #AgeingWithDignity #Humanitarian #HumanRights #OlderPersons

@zavodkrog 👉 We stand with 128 other Civil Society Organisations, calling on MEPs to reject the Schengen Borders Code reform. The reform sees expansive new powers for police in Schengen Member States to conduct police checks with the aim of preventing irregular migration, which the European Network Against Racism states will “exacerbate[s] racial profiling at Europe’s internal borders”. This comes just months after civil society criticised elements of the New Pact on Migration for its reliance on racial profiling at external borders. Observers have warned of the risks of handing racial profiling powers to far-right governments, who are set to be more emboldened than ever following the upcoming EU elections. This is one of the final chances MEPs will have to reject the harmful proposal, and safeguard the rights of people in migration and racialised communities. We call on them to take a stand next week, and reject racial profiling, #RejectTheCode.
