Forces Children Scotland supports over 12,500 children and young people from armed forces and veteran families across Scotland to realise their potential and thrive. The charity is a strengths-based organisation that recognises the lived experience of children and young people from armed forces communities serves as its most valuable asset in decision-making and co-development of its mental health and wellbeing, education and learning, family support, youth participation, influencing and policy services.

Funding from the Army Benevolent Fund is assisting Forces Children Scotland in developing an innovative Talking Mats communications tool with, and for children from armed forces families with additional support needs (ASN). The project brings Forces Children Scotland and Talking Mats together to co-develop a first-of-its-kind forces-life-specific Talking Mat, scheduled to launch later this year.
