One of the most profound ways AI will improve lives is by accelerating science and discovery. This week, Demis Hassabis, James Manyika, and other Google leaders hosted our first-ever AI for Science Forum to share some of our recent progress here - from our work on the Nobel Prize-winning AlphaFold, which cracked the “grand challenge” of protein structure prediction, to connectomics research that helped map a tiny portion of the human brain in unprecedented detail to support health research, and much more. AI research breakthroughs are leading to real-world benefits, for example: improvements to our AI model can now accurately predict floods days earlier than previously possible, while our high-resolution satellite imagery can help firefighters spot wildfires before they grow out of control. To help others expand their impact, we're launching a $20 million fund to support academic and nonprofit organizations who are using AI to advance scientific breakthroughs. This is on top of the more than $200 million Google.org has provided for this work over the last five years. AI has massive potential to benefit the world, so we are acting boldly to apply it as quickly as we can, while doing so responsibly. 2moDear Sundar, using AI in science really brings in saving time, money and lives. Really amazing achievements considering the human and nature's cause. Please do look into agriculture too. Effective use of resources based on the cropping system, livestock and market along with other enterprises. Develop an AI based model where you can fit in the details and prescribe a complete input need and output achievement. Still more, but can't write here. You are an IIT engineer and marketing professional but still this work will help many resource poor farmers, bring in economic security, nutritional security, employment generation in the farm, mitigate climate change, improve water productivity, nutrient use efficiency, reduces risk in farming and what not. I wish you can help into this as a personal project on social cause. Already some work has been done in Waginen University, Netherlands for diversified farming and tried in India. But extremely diverse conditions require more precise work. I too worked in it and was really amazed over the advantages. It requires few mending to fit into indian system. I was transferred and now not at it. Please if you have any possibility, can consider this application of AI in Agriculture.
