Restaurant News! As many of you know, we have been building the World of Mouth app for a few years. Our goal is to make the World's Best Restaurant Guide and we’re well on our way: we now have 100,000 users and 15,000 recommendations from the world's best chefs and food writers to more than 2,200 destinations. Our mission has since the beginning been to connect food lovers with inspiring restaurants. Now we take this a step further. We call the new concept WoM Plus - The Restaurant Lovers' Club We want to create a channel for restaurant-loving people where they can receive interesting news (e.g. a new menu, pop-up, top wine bottles by the glass, info on seasonal dishes etc.) from local top restaurants, and in addition to that get benefits (free champagne/cocktail, a place at the top of the waiting list if the restaurant is full, daily specials etc.). No hassle, just high-quality stuff. We’re testing this new concept in Helsinki beginning March 18. A solid group of restaurants are already in, such as Grön, Nolla, Savoy, Albina, Ateljé Finne, Boulevard Bar & Seafood, Café Savoy, Le Coucou Vert, Elm, Fiasco, The Grand Bar & Grill, Hills Dumplings, Kuurna, Mat Distrikt, Muru, Muru Wine bar, Nolita, Way Bakery, Wellamo. Yes, Yes, Yes and 305. Each restaurant is hand-picked by us. WoM Plus is not a discount but passion driven service and we’ve developed the concept in cooperation with the restaurants mentioned above. The price of the service is € 9.90 per month and our goal is that it pays off already on the first visit. We will only take about 100 users for the first 6-week trial period. on the right, stefan stiller, a german chef whose restaurants in china have a combined six Michelin stars. on the left, xiao jun (肖骏), a shanghainese chef whose crab soup dumpling restaurant, lai lai xiaolong (莱莱小笼), is an institution. (xiao jun’s son, an aspiring chef, is in the middle.) their restaurants are just a few kilometers away from each other but in different universes. at stiller’s three-star restaurant, taian table, the tasting menu changes every six to eight weeks and costs more than 2,500 RMB ($340). at lai lai, the menu hasn’t changed much in the last 30 years; eight crab-and-pork dumplings are 46 RMB ($6). taian table requires a reservation, often several weeks in advance. lai lai is walk-in only and has a constant line out the door. but to me they share the same spirit. they are both fastidious about their sourcing and ingredients. taian table has 22 cooks and chefs for their 28 seats in the dining room. lai lai has 50+ full-time workers in their crab factory, picking and processing crab for their two restaurants. until this weekend, neither knew about the other. so i fixed that. stefan and i went for lunch on saturday, and xiao jun brought one of everything to the table for us to try. afterwards, i translated as they discussed their respective restaurants and experience, and made tentative plans to meet again in the kitchen. maybe something will come of this; maybe it won’t. i don’t know. but it felt important to me to introduce these two distinct worlds i travel in, and see what happens. this picture could be just a souvenir of a dumpling lunch. or, it could be the start of something really interesting.

What is the #Importance and Features of the Restaurant #FoodMenu? The food menu reflects the concept of the restaurant. Today , in 2022 New Food Trends & Restaurant Trends , the #concept of the restaurant and the #menudesign should complement each other. In other words, a classic restaurant cannot have a modern menu. It wouldn't be appropriate though. The fact that even the colors in the restaurant #conceptdesign are included in the food menu is an indication of the order and harmony in the restaurant. Some high-end restaurants do not write #prices on their menus. There is no big problem with having prices on the food menu. This is a #matter of #restaurantmanagement 's decision and principles. But daily prices or #prices written with an #unprinted pen are never acceptable. #Guestsatisfaction in these restaurant #businessesendanger him in the first #place as a first impression.
