"Is Virtual Reality TOO realistic?"🥽 🔮One day that will be a real headline. But not until we take full advantage of VR's potential. 🤔 Honestly, why bother watching a game with an expensive headset if the VR experience is no better than watching from the comfort of your living room tv, computer monitor, or even your phone? Headsets such as the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 will need content that is: 1️⃣ Truly 3 dimensional (not just 360 or 180 degree video, not floating flat screens) 2️⃣ Real, not computer generated Of course, it's not easy to simply stream three dimensional, photorealistic real-time graphics to a VR headset😅There still remains many challenges such as scaling, computing power, number of cameras, bandwidth, logistics, IT infrastructure- just to name a few. We usually think of these types of devices as tools created to entertain, while the reality is that we can find other uses that can be an amazing help to different professionals. And look, this is insane! In this case, I want to share an app created for medical purposes, which is a great example of the possibilities of Apple's new glasses. The software is called SurgicalAR and belongs to the company Medivis, so I encourage you to visit their website to see their capabilities. It is nice to see that many companies offer a more "serious" approach to these kinds of devices and technology, integrating them into professional life and improving the resources with which to work in different fields.
