What the hell is a ferrite bead? I was wondering the same question a month ago. But, this little piece of magic was the reason we were able to record a podcast. With everything ready to record. Camera’s set. Microphones at the ready. We encountered a fork in the road. Our production was halted. I felt that this podcast was never going to happen. One problem after another. Delay after delay. When audio testing, we had entered into local radio station frequencies. And had picked up a local French Québécois rock radio station. Wasn’t quite the background track I had envisioned for the podcast. But, we were determined to overcome our obstacle. A ChatGPT query later. I discovered the strange term ‘ferrite bead.’ Yes this is the strange thing I am holding in my hand. Essentially what it does is filter high frequency noise, suppressing interference. I clipped multiple beads onto each wire connecting our podcast mics to our audio transmitter. And voila the radio frequencies were blocked out. Product delays halted and we could finally kick off recording. After a long anticipated wait. LESSON? This podcast launch has taught me the power of persistence. There is an answer out there to any obstacle put in your path. Be an optimist. The glass is always half full. [BONUS - I got to learn the basics of audio engineering along the way.] _____________ Don’t forget to follow Not Your Story, first episode dropping May 1st 🚀

Deep Dive into Taylor Swift Fandom Have you ever wondered about the deeper meaning behind Taylor Swift's lyrics? One researcher notes that Swift "goes to great lengths to write songs that do make teenagers think about themselves, analyze how the young feels about something and then simplify how they feel by the adoption of all kinds of conceptual metaphors in her lyrics". To learn more about the academic research on Taylor Swift's fandom and the power of her music, listen to my podcast on Spotify! Share what you learn about Taylor Swift in the comments below.

Results from my YouTube survey are in: * I don't consider this to be a random sampling, so interpret liberally. * n=18 (not a big sample size, anyway). * Whereas my podcast survey respondents fell evenly into listeners and nonlisteners, YT respondents split 90-10 viewers-nonviewers. Thanks to all who participated! My viewpoint is that YT is much better for discovery, offering its own search function, being integrated with regular Google search, having the "algorithm" suggest content, and having a better interface for browsing. Personally, I listen to more YT content than view. Perhaps there's an oppty for YouRadio.

Problem analogy has become the order of the day, we talk so much about the problem to an extent that we leave people worst than we met them. There are shows and Podcasts and meetings and conferences that talk so much about the problems and challenges of the past, Present and Future to an extent that it feels like there is no hope for the present and the future. But come to think of it, what will the world look like if we don't talk about a problem till we have solutions? ComFixYou Hub is intentional about "The Solution" after identifying "The Problem" it's going to be a great time. An algorithm, in its broadest terms, is just a process or specific set of instructions that, when followed or performed, results in a desired outcome. People often describe an algorithm as almost like a recipe to solve a problem. They’re usually used to solve math problems, but now, with computers, they’re used to solve nearly everything. PODCAST: The algorithm: Letters of recommendation The making of the recommendation formulas influences what we stream, shop, and see online today. https://lnkd.in/gQZSgsWy
