Finding Inspiration in Uncertainty: My Journey at the Intersection of Politics, Economics, and Technology -+- Inspiration often comes from the most unexpected places. Here I am, a Political Science student at Brawijaya University, currently attending Telkom Indonesia's Digistar Class. Finding myself in a world where the seeds of Indonesia's tech industry are being sown. It’s fascinating to glimpse the bright future of our nation’s tech industry, even amidst the uncertainties of the current political landscape. Yesterday, during a thought-provoking discussion in my Digistar class on personal branding, I reflected on my journey and where I’m headed. While I’m still exploring the exact path I want to specialize in, one thing is clear: my interests consistently gravitate towards economics, politics, and foreign affairs. However, I've always been intrigued by the tech industry—a field that constantly challenges me and fuels my curiosity. Even so, I wouldn’t say that I’m entirely unfamiliar with this field. With an experience in programming and data analytics (thanks to certifications and hands-on experience), I’m continuously seeking opportunities to bridge these diverse fields. Whether it's exploring how data can drive policy decisions or understanding the economic implications of technological advancements, I’m eager to learn and contribute. I’m always open to opportunities that allow me to grow, not just in one area but across multiple fields. UNESCO report on technology in education launched 📢 UNESCO and Vietnam National Institute of Educational Sciences launched the 2023 Southeast Asia Report - Technology in Education in Hanoi on May 24th in partnership with SEAMEO and the GEM Report Team. 🎓 Titled "Technology in Education: A Tool on Whose Terms", the report analyzed 11 Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam. It recognized that technology has transformed the organization of education in the region and helped improve learning access for students in remote and mountainous areas and in emergency cases. However, the report also emphasized that technology is not a comprehensive solution to address major challenges in the sector. 👨🏫 At the launch event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, highlighted that the report's findings provide a comprehensive framework to evaluate technology's use in Vietnam. I am pleased to share that my participation in the Global Citizen program, provided by Universitas 21 and Common Purpose, has come to an end, leaving me with positive emotions and excitement for future collaborations. Following the first two weeks of the program, during which I focused on number 3 and 4 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, namely, Good Health and Well-Being and Quality Education, I dedicated my final week in the program exploring the targets for collaboration and strengthening partnerships outlined in #SDG17’s plan. My takeaway form this week is that it seems that we are yet to discover the perfect recipe for building successful and long-lasting partnerships. However, I strongly believe that the way forward is through strengthening our cultural awareness, demonstrating unconditional respect for humans and leading with a sense of purpose and moral responsibility. I am going to continue working towards advancing the goals that I have committed to, with a reinforced interest specifically in SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-Being, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. This program has been an incredible opportunity for meeting many inspiring people during these past few weeks, whose invaluable insight and lessons from life have left me with more questions than answers. Unlocking potential and embarking new journey!✨🥳 As I sat quietly with a hot coffee, staring at my screen, I began to refine my thoughts and trust the wisdom of my instincts. What if I fail? Will all my efforts be in vain? I asked myself hundreds of times whether I could take this big step. Making this decision required a leap of faith, and looking back on the journey that brought me here, the path to this achievement has taught me invaluable lessons. Ultimately, I challenge my fear and successfully become part of one awardee of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards Program, Acceptance into this program has been a journey of my growth and learning. I'm thrilled to share what I've discovered in this huge opportunity held by Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan. The road to this moment was paved with countless hours of preparation, self-reflection, and determination. From mastering my brand to navigating the intricacies of the IISMA application process, each step taught me invaluable life lessons: 1. 🏆🥉3RD NATIONAL BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION WINNER IN THE 9TH INDONESIA STUDENTPRENEUR (IDEAS) FEB UGM 🥉🏆 Last year, in June 2023, I embarked on a challenging yet rewarding journey – competing in the 9th Indonesia Studentpreneur (IDEAS) National Business Plan Competition at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)🥉. The competition's theme, "The Active Role of Sociopreneurs in Improving the Quality of Life and National Development by Realizing Equality," resonated deeply with me. The concept of promoting equality through business solutions ignited my desire to contribute to a more just and equitable Indonesia🇮🇩. This wasn't a solo venture. I teamed up with fellow students, Wildan Bagus Maulana from Universitas Indonesia and Yusuf Iskandar from Universitas Padjajaran. This "cross-university collaboration" was a highlight for me. We shared knowledge and perspectives, enriching our idea for a sociopreneurial business based on real-life experiences of Indonesian families🫂. While the specific details of our business plan remain confidential, it centered around the theme of sociopreneurship and aimed to address inequalities faced by Indonesian families. The project was our response to IDEAS call for action – young people actively participating in building a more equal and prosperous society🌎. IDEAS wasn't just about winning; it was about creating a "revolutionary effort in thought and concrete evidence." It challenged participants to consider the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly #10 – Reduced Inequalities. Through this competition, we were shaped into critical thinkers, passionate about using sociopreneurship to drive positive change across the nation💫. Winning 3rd place at IDEAS Batch #9 was a turning point. It fueled my dedication to translating creative, impactful ideas into reality. The experience instilled in me the confidence to contribute to future sociopreneurial projects, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in this field🌎. This competition wasn't just the end, but the beginning.
