This Futureproof: Postcards From the Future entry explores the ever-increasing role that drones may take in our daily lives. "We subscribed to the Lawn Keeper drone service last Fall, and our lawn has never looked better. Syncing with seasonal data and local weather forecasts, the service seeds and fertilizes our lawn at optimal times of the year. The optional Lawn Defender service makes weekly passes to keep weeds at bay by targeting them with just enough low-power laser energy to eliminate them."

Ever wondered what it's like working on a wildfire drone hot-spot detection crew? Our team headed out on a crucial mission after a previous drone sweep identified around 20 wildfire hot spots. With the fire clean-up crew having addressed those, we're now doing a final sweep, hoping to see fewer or no remaining hot spots. Setting up is no small task! From deploying our Starlink to charging stations and safety checks, every detail matters. As we fly, we constantly monitor the heat map, identifying potential hot spots, and ensuring the highest accuracy in our findings. The battery life of the DJI Matrice 350 is about 40 minutes, so we perform hot swaps to keep it in the air continuously. Finding hot spots is both challenging and rewarding. It requires careful analysis to distinguish between actual fires and other heat sources like animals or heated rocks. Tonight, we've successfully identified some significant hot spots, meaning our job is far from over but also proving our methods are effective. If you'd like to learn more about our hot-spot detection services email us at support@candrone.com Equipment used: Matrice 350 RTK: https://lnkd.in/gXF4Vbce Zenmuse H20T (Now replaced with H30T): https://lnkd.in/gY7CgtAq #drones #wildfires #BC #wildfires #wildlandfire #forestfire #helicopter #firefighting #dronesforgood #uav #rpas #uas #canada #emergency #disaster #dji #forestry

Removal of Ghost Nets Why Now ? Every year, about 300’000 whales, dolphins and sharks are dying because of fishing nets, which were just thrown away because they are old or broken and because it takes to much time to store them on board before they would be recycled. With the help of a sponsor, we have started to buy first powerboats and inflatables like Zodiacs. With the enormous agility of these boats, we are able to remove ghost nets from small to medium size. Large ghost nets – with several tons of weight, can be only marked with balloons and then transported by a trawler to the coast. With latest sonar technology we can locate those nets and bring them to the surface for recycling. The sonar technology is part of our drones and wing gliders! Your Ocean Quest Int. Every farmer knows that the success of a harvest isn’t just about planting the right seeds; It’s about managing the obstacles that come up along the way. This fall we aggressively treated Burcumber vines in a corn field. This invasive weed is known for its rapid growth and its ability to quickly dominate fields where it takes root. Traditional methods like ground rigs were used with limited success and we relied on the use of drones to provide a fresh approach. Especially the use of the NVDI technology that allowed us a glimpse into exactly where the problem areas were. Do you have an invasive weed you will be treating this growing season? Or know someone who does? Share this post with them as we spread the word about the amazing drone technology that provides fresh eyes to an age old issue.
