What a week: From talent innovation to Football Family time! 🚀
They say variety is the spice of life, and this week has served up a feast of inspiring moments and exciting opportunities.
Tuesday kicked off with the British Recruitment Awards, where I had the privilege of joining the judging panel. What an honour to help celebrate the best of British recruitment talent - the innovation and excellence on display was truly inspiring! 🏆
The momentum continued as the week unfolded:
- Wednesday brought a double-header: Exploring growth and recruitment transformation with a dynamic leisure hospitality business (watch this space - exciting things brewing! ✨)
- Contributing to the development of an innovative performance and competency framework
- Thursday saw me deep-diving into talent strategy, crafting a discovery phase for a customer's statement of work. It's amazing how the right approach to talent and employer branding can transform an organisation.
- Today rounded off the professional week perfectly with a CultureTrak demonstration. There's something special about showing customers how they can revolutionise their workplace culture and evolve their employer brand in real-time. 💟
And now? I'm capping off this incredible week taking my daughter to watch AFC Wimbledon - her first at Plough Lane! 💛💙 Nothing beats sharing your passions with family - whether that's transforming workplace cultures or supporting your local team. Come on you Dons! ⚽
Here's to a great weekend, everyone - may it be as rewarding as the week that preceded it!

I look back so fondly at my time almost 15 years ago when I started at Groupon, where hardworking, smart and scrappy employees had lots of opportunities to get hands-on, impactful experience across a breadth of teams and tools. Salaries at the time were not especially competitive for many roles, but the value of what I learned from getting thrown into new and challenging situations and having to think quickly on my feet (realizing I broke something in SFDC that impacted much of the sales org while sitting in an offshore office in Portugal at 10 pm - and then the lights in the building going off - comes to mind...) was invaluable and paid off in the long run.
I see this same type of opportunity at LaSalle Network. We are on a path to grow significantly over the next couple years, and leadership gives a lot of trust and autonomy to individuals who might not start with a lot of experience but are scrappy, curious, and hardworking (not to mention fun to sit by or Zoom with!).
Since we were just recognized for two significant awards, I'd like to take a minute to showcase what I admire about each of my team members:
● Years ago Kristin saw a need for a role that didn't exist at the company; she pitched it to leadership and is now leading a team of six people in that role supporting some of our largest clients.
● LaSalle was Morgan's first corporate job after being a (I imagine excellent) barista. Over the years she's proactively identified process and tool enhancements, asked for the opportunity to learn new technical skills and manage larger projects, and is now one of the most technically proficient Project Managers at the company.
● There wasn't a very clear role for Laura when she initially started at LaSalle - we just wanted to hire more sharp people who we trusted to make an impact - and she quickly jumped in to help Marketing, Sales, and Operations in whatever capacity was needed. Fast forward, she's now a Project Manager who just rolled out a months-long initiative that will greatly improve the experience for the Talent we partner with as well as our recruiters.
● Charles (Zim) graduated in May and has seen more changes in the few months he's been here than most do in their first job out of college; the coolest part is how he's both "rolled with the punches" and is so eager to take on bigger projects and have access to work closely with leadership.
● Lauren is on week 2, and from everything we've seen she is going to fit into this group perfectly (just need to get a quote of yours on the white board... ;)
● Heather (for some reason I can't tag you...) started here as a full-time employee, and when she wanted to try to become a FT consultant, LaSalle supported that transition and it's been a win/win partnership ever since. Where would I be without your brain, unlimited energy, incredibly thoughtful gifts, and the mentorship you provide the Ops crew?
LaSalle Network has been recognized with two Top Workplaces awards – one for Professional Development and another for Employee Appreciation. These awards are not just titles. They're a reflection of our leaders' commitment to investing in LaSallians' growth from 2,000+ hours of annual training to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued. At a recent company holiday party, one of the most inspiring moments for me was celebrating our people, particularly their tenure 🤵♀️ .
It was incredible to recognize those who have dedicated over 24 years to this company—and even more astonishing to meet someone who has been part of the team for nearly double that time 🕰️ .
It made me reflect on what it takes for a company to foster such long-standing loyalty. A quarter of a century with one organization is not just a testament to the employee’s commitment but also to the company’s culture and values ☘️ .
It takes more than just great roles to inspire this kind of dedication—it takes a positive, respectful, and joyful environment where people genuinely feel valued. I’m grateful to be part of a company that prioritizes its people in a way that earns this level of trust and loyalty.
I see firsthand how this organization makes employees feel heard, understood, and respected. Managers trust their teams, and employees know their contributions matter to the company’s overall success 💯 .
It’s no wonder the company is certified as a Great Place to Work 💟 .
Often, it’s not the work itself but toxic environments that push people away from jobs. But here, I’ve witnessed the power of a healthy workplace culture—one that fosters belonging, celebrates achievements, and invests in its people.
As I reflect on this, I’m inspired to keep building environments like this wherever my career takes me. Environments where people feel empowered to thrive, grow, and stay for years—or even decades ⌛ .
To HR leaders and professionals: What are some ways your organization prioritizes its people and builds a culture that stands the test of time?

HPE Bay area employees - you are so lucky to be treated like this.
HPE UKs treatment of former Digital Employees is a pretty sharp and negative contrast - HPE UK have given only 3 Pension increases in 22 years to that group, while inflation has reduced the real value of pensions for some by c.65%. If published statistics are to be believed that makes HPE UK one the worst companies in the UK for looking after their pre-97 pensioners.
HPE is a place where people can have work/life balance, creativity can thrive, and employees are appreciated. 🙌 Thank you to our team members for making us a Top 10 Best Place to Work in the Bay Area. https://hpe.to/604198FyW
