Ahead of #COP29, the World Economic Forum's Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders has published an open letter signed by 112 CEOs, calling on global leaders across the public and private sectors to work together to accelerate global #climate action. The Alliance is the world's largest community of CEOs dedicated to net zero emissions, together representing USD 4 trillion in revenues, with 12 million employees across 12 different industries in 27 countries. This group is truly leading by example and showing that the economics of climate action can really work. For instance, between 2019 and 2022, the Alliance delivered aggregate emissions reductions of 10%, while growing member revenues by 18% in the same period.   As the urgency of the climate crisis grows, the private sector must take a leading role in the transition to a sustainable and resilient economy. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀: 🌡️ 85% of members are committed to 1.5°C/2°C-aligned Scope 1+2 targets. 📉 Achieved a 10% reduction in absolute emissions and a 12% reduction in emissions intensity (2019-2022). 🌍 Represents ~10% of global emissions, with 5.2 Gt CO₂e total emissions. 🎯 Targets to mitigate >1 Gt CO₂e annually by 2030.
