Our annual blue-green algae management program for the River Torrens has kicked off ✔️ This program reduces the risk of harmful algal blooms in Torrens Lake through careful water monitoring, and release of flows of freshwater, if needed. This keeps algae levels down, and the lake open for use. Our program has successfully prevented a bloom since 2013. To help water from summer rainfall or a freshwater flow get out to sea, the program includes excavating a small channel at the Torrens Outlet.
