We just finished our Annual Learning Conference and LDP session . Of the many things that we have achieved as an organisation one thing that we particularly take pride in is creating a company with low attrition. In an era and environment where most managers have a shelf life of 2-3 years, our average leadership vintage is over 5 years. This does not happen automatically . The 2 things that Retail Scan has focussed on is to Build a Positive Workplace Culture. The 3 greatest things that we have focussed on are : • Embrace Diversity and Inclusivity: Ensure that everyone feels valued and included, celebrating different perspectives and backgrounds. A company that has a wide range of employees that engage in CRM and tele-calling to data scientists and It professionals, the challenge was to build a work environment that embraces and gives voice to all. • Recognize and Reward Contributions: Regularly acknowledge the hard work and achievements of our team and this is more important for the younger workgroups. I believe a young team are like the soldiers –“ full of strange oaths , bearded like a pard … seeking the bubble reputation even in a canon’s mouth.’’- ala Shakespeare in all worlds a stage. Instant acknowledgement is what keeps them motivated and going strong. • Promote Work-Life Balance: the purpose of work is life and not vice versa. We help employees manage their personal and professional lives to a level where work gives them purpose and helps to lead a life of fulfilment.

To better understand how our daily operations work, what challenges we face and to actually meet the consumers and see their needs and behaviour there is no better approach than spending time on the front lines. For several years now, we've embraced a practice where our office employees work shifts at our service stations. During the summer season, they also pitch in at our seasonal locations to help out when things get pretty busy. This approach not only boosts teamwork but also emphasizes the importance of understanding how every link in the chain functions, what is required to keep the operations going smootly, to implement and execute new business-driven initiatives and helps keep everyone focused on delivering excellent service. #Tifon #teamwork

Last year, in March 2023, We embarked on an exciting adventure. Not only did Kathleen Louckx and Tom Ryckaert establish their own consultancy & advisory firm, 2nRich , but it was also the beginning of putting pen to paper for Tom Ryckaert. For several years, the idea of writing a business book on "Facility Management" and the workplace environment had been lingering. The past few years we have seen so many changes (disruption) that our workplace has been permanently altered. Many books have already been written, and he's fully aware of that. However, He felt there was a lack of a practical book, a guide with numerous use cases, and stakeholders sharing their insights from their respective markets or region.
