How do we leverage AI in Climate Tech? On Tuesday evening, I had the privilege of joining a panel discussion on "AI in Climate Tech" with fellow product leaders from Enpal, Ostrom, and Enter. The conversation was incredibly engaging, exploring how we can leverage ML and AI to optimize energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions in our products. Of course, I couldn't resist talking about thermondo intelligence, the newest feature of our #HEMS, designed to reduce our customers’ heating costs. 🚀 Here are a few hot takes from our discussion with Bastian Külzer, Karl Villanueva, Michel Dehn, and Georg Peter: 🧑💻 Also true for climate tech: Eventually, customers don’t care about AI. They care about the actual benefits it delivers. 🧹 (Not surprisingly) Cleaning, preparing, and interpreting data is half the work— and it’s often the hardest part! 📊 Data > models. The data you own is a bigger competitive advantage than the sophistication of your models. ⚙️ Not every solution needs ML. But at scale, human-driven variance often requires optimization that ML can handle well. 🇩🇪 Before going all-in on AI, Germany should tackle the basics: reliable internet, smart meter rollouts, and maybe retiring those fax machines!
