Consequential life cycle assessment (LCA) is a sophisticated methodology that Vaayu uses to trace the broader environmental impacts of business decisions. Unlike traditional LCA, which focuses on a product or service’s direct impacts, this method models potential changes stemming from specific business activities at a broader system level. This allows organizations to understand the full extent of their repercussions, particularly how they influence the environment beyond immediate production boundaries. Our team, the largest in-house LCA group in the industry, utilizes bespoke AI and machine learning to apply this method to effectively quantify impacts like avoided emissions (💡 the emissions that don’t occur thanks to the existence of sustainable options, like buying from circular businesses). We’re often asked about the fundamentals of LCA. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/erXxW6WP #consequentiallca #activitylca #avoidedemissions

This is big news: Code Gaia launches its own AI-based writing assistant tailored to support ESRS report writing. In addition to our ongoing work in AI-supported document processing, this is the second area where we’re applying AI technologies to solve day-to-day challenges in sustainability. Watch Phillip Blumenthal’s video to see how this feature will speed up disclosure writing and how it’s better able to support the ESRS’ quality criteria than a generic chatbot-style AI assistant.

A.I. written sustainability statements? Here, in the video below, is how we are leveraging AI support for our software users at Code Gaia. We are determined to support content drafting in a way that is consistent with the quality requirements of the ESRS. To do this we are dedicating expert sustainability staff to this task, as well as involving our higly competent Engineering team, under the guidance of Dr. Sebastian Beschke. We're now rolling this functionality out on a disclosure-by-disclosure basis. This is the way we can ensure a high quality of support from the AI that really does what reporting professionals need, and doesn't just spit out tangential and largely useless content. #artificialintelligence #sustainability #esrs #csrd #reporting

We are thrilled to share the Call for Papers for the second YARS issue of 2025, YARS volume 18(32): AI and Emerging Technologies: a Path to Sustainability? Navigating Legal and Regulatory Challenges edited by dr Magdalena Porzeżyńska and dr Marek Porzeżyński. If one were to identify the key topics that have dominated the recent scientific debate, AI and sustainability would undoubtedly be among them. While it may seem that almost everything has already been written on these issues, it turns out that they are rarely analyzed in parallel and from an interdisciplinary perspective, particularly from legal and regulatory perspective. However, there is an undeniable synergy between these topics. It is widely acknowledged that new technologies can contribute to achieving ambitious sustainability goals, including the need for a green and just transition toward a low-carbon economy. One area that exemplifies the effective use of emerging technologies in reducing emissions is the automotive industry, especially in the context of the vehicle electrification trend, which is closely linked to the digitalization and electrification of the mobility sector. AI can also support sustainable development, provided that the algorithms used for this purpose are applied transparently, based on a representative range of data, and with due consideration of all potential risks associated with the use of AI. And therein lies the key challenge: if.... See more details in the Call for Papers! DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 30 JUNE 2025
