Celebrating Animal Rights Day 🐕🐦🌳 Today, on #AnimalRightsDay, we at GreenInCities reaffirm our commitment to creating cities where humans and non-human species thrive together. Our work embraces the #OneHealth concept, recognising the deep interconnection between the health of people, #animals, #plants, and the environment. Through a holistic approach, we ensure that non-human stakeholders—from urban #wildlife to local ecosystems—are included in our planning and decision-making. First Affirmative investors may want to support improved animal rights policies and push for further change with their values-aligned investing. Our proprietary screens allow a client to exclude companies based on many factors, including their progress toward eliminating animal testing in consumer products like shampoo, makeup and more. #animalrights #valuesinvesting #vadis #animaltesting Photo by David Selbert

I watched 𝙒𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 with the family over the holidays and noticed an element of animal rights in the film. The amazing Cynthia Erivo, star of Wicked, gave up animal products in 2013, along with Ariana Grande. If you're considering trying Veganuary , it's not too late to start. 🌍 Gravity: You might just be Defying Gravity, as you will feel more elelated 😀 ❤️🩹 Health Benefits: Plant-based diets can reduce the risk of heart disease by 25% and lower the chance of developing type 2 diabetes by 50%. 🌳 Environmental Impact: Shifting to plant-based diets can cut greenhouse gas emissions by up to 70%. 🐓 Animal Welfare: Adopting a plant-based diet can save approximately 100 animals per year from factory farming. If you need any advice about going plant-based, feel free to DM me. Did you know that Charles River Laboratories (CRL), which routinely has groups protesting against its animal work, spends £3.9million on developing animal replacements every single month? To put that in perspective, the Lush Prize for replacements in animal research – celebrated by prominent animal rights activists – is a mere £250,000 a year, a figure that Charles River’s latest funding round will exceed in just two days. The graph shows how much spending goes toward NATs and NAMS by organisations that also carry out animal research. In our new article, Chris Magee explains, "An end to animal research tomorrow would in one sense 'rescue' as many animals per year as will be eaten for lunch today (although, in reality, research animals are all bred for purpose so they wouldn’t be born at all) but it would be at the expense of a much larger cohort of animals that are protected by the results of scientific research. These include wild animals, farmed animals, pets, animals endangered by climate change or harmed by chemicals already in the environment and, yes, human beings. The wellbeing or survival of these other animals is not given enough weight by protesters to justify even a mild experiment on an animal in a lab." "The whole point of animal research is to use the smallest number of animals possible, as humanely as possible and in carefully controlled and regulated circumstances, to prevent greater human and animal suffering. Simply ignoring the other side of the equation, or pretending there are viable alternatives, isn’t kindness: it’s negligence," Magee shares. 💰Animal research organisations, that is where most of the money for the development of NATs and NAMs comes from. Ironic? No, I would not say so. Logical, also these organisations would like to do as few animal experiments as possible and they are in the ideal position to work towards this. Telling society that alternatives exist and that animal experiments are only still done out of convenience, tradition or habit does not contribute to progress. Let us please stop this. ❌ wishful thinking & polarisation ✅ realism & collaboration

They need YOU. 🐷🐮🐴🐭🐟 Globally, approximately 72 billion land animals and 1.2 trillion sea animals are killed each year for food. 💔 The exploitation these animals endure often goes unseen, as 99% of them live their lives in captivity under harsh conditions, only to face untimely deaths. 😣 Activism encompasses a wide range of activities, from participating in protests to educational initiatives exposing the realities of animal agriculture. ✊ Their calls for help are not heard, so we have a responsibility to speak up for them. 🙏 👉 Join the Movement for Animal Rights: https://lnkd.in/egmAxnJw ✍️ 🎥: VeganFTA Clips from: montevideohorsesave / cavelightfilms / newarkanimalsave / animalsavenederland / thesavemovement / napolianimalsave / salernoanimalsave / laanimalsave / animalalliancenetwork / torontocowsave (IG) #activism #animalrights #animalrightsactivism #veganism #veganmovement

***** New #Analysis Alert ***** Hello #DataFam; here is my latest project. Comprehensive analysis of animal rights policies and practices worldwide! 🐾🌱 Fascinated by the #MakeOverMonday 2024 Week 9 dataset on animal rights, I performed a Multivariate Analysis on this dataset. These are the points I tried to answer/explore: 1️⃣ Investigate animal rights and differences between countries through Cluster Analysis. 2️⃣ Explore the interrelationships between countries based on animal rights variables using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). 3️⃣ Identify the relationship between animal rights variables and how they can be grouped using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). 4️⃣ Identify key factors underlying animal rights variables and examine relationships between countries concerning these factors. Key Takeaways: Cluster Analysis: Revealed distinct clusters of countries, from "Progressive Protectors" with robust animal welfare laws to "Developing Dynamics" nations needing enhanced legislation. Principal Component Analysis (PCA): Uncovering underlying patterns in the data sheds light on interrelationships between countries based on animal rights variables. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA): Identified core factors related to animal welfare and cruelty metrics, providing valuable insights into the complex landscape of global animal rights. Check out the complete code, report, and dataset here: https://lnkd.in/ecJAUjYA Please do share your feedback on this! #DataAnalysis #DataScience #MultivariateAnalysis #DataAnalyst #AnimalRights #DataAnalysis #GlobalPerspectives #CompassionInAction #StoryTellingWithData #Jobseeker
