After 3 amazing years at RVezy, the time has come for a new chapter. Like many in tech these days, I’ve been impacted by recent layoffs. It’s been an incredible journey filled with exciting and challenging projects. Some of the highlights include: - Building & Launching an RV Dealer marketplace from the ground up – Guests and hosts alike can find the perfect RV for their next purchase - Building & Launching a Campground Directory – Our guests now have easier access to available campgrounds, within our product - Improving on-site search functionality – making it faster and more relevant for users - Driving SEO optimization – resulting in increased organic visibility and growth - Champion feature experimentation efforts – enabling teams to make informed, data-driven decisions These are just some of the key projects I had the opportunity to drive forward, and each one played a role in shaping my approach to problem-solving and innovation. When I got laid off 3 months ago, I went straight into panic mode. My days felt the same every day of applying, interviewing and wondering what's next. I missed having a schedule. After a while, I decided to explore the time I had by doing things that made me happy and eased my mind in between my worry: I started reading again; I tried sewing; I started working floral for banquets and did some freelance marketing work; I finished crafts; I started going to morning masses for peace of mind; and eventually, I decided to go to Europe with a group of friends. Which, for me, was a crazy idea because I am NOT spontaneous. But if this time has taught me anything, it's that life is short. My time in Europe gave me a sense of freedom and clarity for my career future, and it's been such a memorable, chaotic journey. I'm thankful for my family and friends who've supported and cheered me on the last few months during this difficult time. You've kept me from not being in a constant state of anxiety and gave me some much needed perspective. If you're currently experiencing layoffs, just a reminder to take it day by day and take care of yourself.
