🌿 Witnessing Nature’s Marvel: The Mighty Mangroves! Last week, I took a much-needed break to Mexico and in the middle of Vegas-like Cancun had the incredible opportunity to see a preserved mangrove forest. Mexico lost most of their mangroves due to tourism development in the 1980s and began to protect and restore them in the late 90s. This continues today.. In the middle of the built-out area I was staying in, I was truly captivated by the tangled roots that represent one of the most impactful nature-based solutions we have. Mangroves are not only breathtakingly beautiful - they are also among the planet’s most powerful tools against climate change. They sequester carbon up to four times more effectively than tropical rainforests and serve as formidable coastal defenses against rising sea levels and storm surges. They also benefit local communities by supporting fishing and aquaculture industries as well as eco-tourism. The mangrove by my hotel had crocodiles and a wide diversity of birds and fish. Have you encountered mangroves in your travels or local environment? Share your experience! #ClimateSolutions #SustainableInvesting #Mexicanmangroves #NatureLovers #NatureBasedSolutions Could Insuring Mangroves Protect Coastal Communities? | TNC (nature.org)

🌿🌲 Re-Spire Westerwald: A Meaningful Visit 🌲🌿 Recently, our partnerships team and our nature-based solution team joined forces for a visit to Re-Spire Westerwald in Germany's Rhineland-Palatinate! Our collaboration on this trip was truly insightful. Over the years, the area has been ravaged by storms, droughts, and bark beetles, but now, we're witnessing the seeds of change being sown. Amidst the 1500 hectares of forest, our project focuses on a crucial 94.8 hectares. We're not just planting trees; we're cultivating a resilient mixed forest comprising 18-19 tree species. These aren't just any trees; they're climate-tolerant species that will withstand the changing weather patterns, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come. Climate change is an ongoing reality, with its impacts becoming increasingly evident. The rising temperatures of recent years have contributed to the proliferation of bark beetles, which have infested and damaged spruce trees, impacting forest health and resilience. This development reflects the urgency of addressing climate change and its far-reaching consequences. During our visit, we observed the growth of young Larch trees, a promising sign for the future health of the forest ecosystem. The visible impact of neglect highlighted the critical importance of implementing sustainable forest management practices as a necessary step towards preserving the long-term viability and resilience of these natural habitats. But it's not just about trees; it's about coexisting with wildlife too. From deer to wildcats, and a myriad of birds and insects, this forest is a thriving ecosystem in the making. We're not just rebuilding; we're restoring balance to nature. Our call to action is clear: we need to act now. The urgency to regenerate our forests is paramount. 🌱At FORLIANCE, we understand the critical role sustainable forest management plays in combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. We invite you to connect with us and join forces. Here are some pictures of our inspiring visit. #ReSpireWesterwald #sustainability #forestregeneration #FORLIANCE #ReSpireWesterwald #natureconservation #forestrejuvenation #FORLIANCE

The earth that gives us and all other creatures life should not need a single day to be honored. Making oneself a little more conscious of decisions that, when combined with millions of others, create an ocean of action rather than a drop in the pond - for example by choosing to plant a tree in the yard, drive less each week and bike or walk, or help clean up a local creek or stream - we give back in a good way. Each of us makes a decision about food. Cut out meat one or two days a week or source from ethical producers. Lobby to force a reduction in corporate ag dominance of the world food market. Small steps by millions can yield lasting results.
Throughout the year, we honor the wildlife and ecosystems with which we share this world. While there are hundreds of ways to honor Mother Earth, especially for #EarthDay, it’s important to find the activities that work best for you. Read some of our top suggestions on how you can make a difference in and for our world and check out our Earth Day Hub! https://dfnd.us/43RCTx4

We're transforming the landscape at Turkey Hill!🌱 Located on the lands of the Dharug people in Limerick, New South Wales, this property was revegetated by Greenfleet in 2019. Recently, our Revegetation Team inspected the site, and it is showing impressive growth in less than five years! 🌳 The trees at Turkey Hill are creating shelterbelts to protect grazing animals and restore parts of this mostly barren landscape. It's a great example of how Greenfleet and farmers can work together to improve land productivity while taking critical climate action.💚 The trees planted were carefully selected and are locally native to the area. They will be vital in revegetating the landscape and increasing the land's productivity.
