Who are Jo Everill HR, your outsourced HR Consultants. Jo Everill HR is based in Stone in Staffordshire, supporting local and national organisations. So, what do Jo Everill HR do? As the lead consultant and business owner, I use over 22 years of HR experience to help business owners of small hospitality and healthcare organisations to maximise employee productivity and engagement so they can achieve their business goals, gain more clients which will enable them to grow their business, all whilst ensuring they are legally compliant. How do Jo Everill HR do this? Providing comprehensive and easy to understand HR advice (take a look through my recommendations), effective coaching, putting in clear process and documentation and upskilling business owners and managers. What is lead consultant, Jo Everill's background? You are probably less interested in my paper round, retail manager, holiday rep or mortgage advisor days and want to know about my 22 years working in HR. I had an employed career working in HR from entry level to Head of HR across telecommunications, schools, leisure and hotels and rail, before becoming self employed. After I had my daughter I really wanted the flexibility in a role and just could not find it. So, when a previous colleague asked for some support in their HR Consultancy I jumped at the chance, later down the line I supported some other HR Consultancies as an Associate whilst I built my own business where I truly am adding value to those small organisations and start-ups who see the value in having specialist outsourced HR support with managing their people. Why do I do what I do? Being self employed I can set my own hours, which means I can create the life-work balance for my daughter, having days where I can be in the house when she gets home and take her to different clubs as much as possible and enjoy seeing her grow. But, my time in work is just as rewarding especially when I support new business owners’ step by step in their new employment journey by writing their very first contract templates, discussing and writing the job descriptions for their very first employees and managing the recruitment for them as they grow. There is complete job satisfaction in helping others to realise their dreams. So, what do you need to know about me? I love my family - they are my priority. I also love coffee. And, chocolate. My guilty pleasure is Married at First Sight (I know.....) My last holiday was to Tenerife. My upcoming adventures are Halloween with family, Liverpool, London, festive afternoon tea and to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, with many more things being dreamed about..... I love to work with small business owners who care about their people and realise what they can achieve through their leadership. Now you know all about me, it would be great to hear what you do and where you are from in the comments. #hrconsultant #hrsupport #smallbusinesssupport

Where’s Ardmore, OK? That’s a great question, but the better question is are you willing to relocate to grow your career? After a little research I discovered that Ardmore is really close to Texas -1hr/42m from Dallas and 1hr/32m from Fort Worth, by car. In fact, Tulsa, OK is further away at 2hr/42m by car. I’ve relocated twice as an adult; once for a job and the other for happiness. Both were pivotal moments in my life and I would do things the same way if there was a do over. What if “you” are waiting for you on the other side of a move? The difference a zip code change can make ✈️🚖🚃 #jobhunting #jobseeker #career #humanresources #relocation #hr #recruiting

The HR Functions The difference between HR Admin/Coordinator and HR Generalist. Although they both look similar, they differ in scope and focus: This is for those who would like to know the difference between these roles. HR Coordinator: They primarily focus on Operational and Administrative support within the HR department. Their Responsibilities: Managing HR processes such as recruitment scheduling, onboarding, benefits administration, maintaining employee records, and coordinating HR events. Tasks: Scheduling interviews and coordinating with candidates. Handling paperwork and data entry for employee records. Assisting with benefits enrollment and administration. Organizing training sessions and HR events. Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in administrative tasks. While on the other hand, HR Generalist primarily focuses on various HR functions and strategic support. Main Responsibilities: Overseeing multiple HR areas including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and training. Tasks: Managing the full recruitment process, from job postings to hiring. Addressing employee relations issues and resolving conflicts. Implementing and managing employee performance appraisal systems. Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Skills: Comprehensive understanding of HR practices, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle complex HR issues. In summary, while an HR Coordinator typically focuses on administrative and operational support tasks, an HR Generalist has a broader role encompassing various HR functions and strategic responsibilities. Which other position would you like me to talk about? Leave a comment below. #HRandtheirresponsibilities #HRManagerandHRBP #welovetoshowkindness

We interviewed HR Coordinator Becka Ruiz-Guerrero to find out more about her job at Open Door and what being a HR Coordinator is like! Q1. Can you tell us what interested you in working at Open Door? A1. I was drawn to Open Door because of its strong community focus. The mission statement (when I was hired), which emphasizes 'providing quality care regardless of barriers,' deeply resonates with me. After experiencing high costs for care elsewhere in Humboldt County, I appreciated knowing that Open Door is committed to accessible, high-quality care for everyone. Q2. What is a typical day like working as a HR Coordinator in the medical field? A2. Each day as an HR Coordinator in the medical field is both varied and consistent. I spend a lot of time addressing employee questions and supporting daily HR functions. Recently, I've been focused on implementing our new HRIS system, which has been both exciting and challenging. Q3. What do you like best about your job? A3. I enjoy interacting with people at all levels of the organization. Solving problems with different departments to achieve our goals has been particularly rewarding—it's an experience I didn’t have in my previous jobs. Q4. What advice would you give someone who is interested in working as a HR Coordinator? A4. Start by gaining a solid foundation in HR, including knowledge of labor laws related to wages, resignations, and terminations. Focus on developing effective communication skills and make an effort to understand your organization well. HR often serves as the first point of contact for employees seeking specific employment information, so being well-informed and communicative is key.
