Hurricane Helene recently caused severe flooding and devastation in Asheville, NC. The storm dropped nearly 30 inches of rain in just a few days, leading to catastrophic flooding throughout western North Carolina. Asheville, known for its mountainous terrain, was particularly hard-hit. Communities were submerged, roads washed out, and there are a lot of tragedy's across the region. On a personal note, I live near the French South Broad River and our main road 191 is still closed due to flooding and damage. Biltmore Village, the River Arts District, Swannanoa, and many other areas of Asheville saw significant damage, with some homes swept away by the floodwaters. Please know we did get a lot of resources quickly, in fact on Monday the mall up the street was full of supplies, linesman trucks, and rescue personnel. This info graphic was shared on an email so I thought I would put a blue dot on where I am located. My family and I are okay, we consider ourselves very lucky. Most importantly, I appreciate the outpouring of support and checking up on us. If you feel like donating to some local charities to help the community, I have listed them below. Glad to hear you and your family are ok. It’s sad to see what everyone there is going thru. We have family up there too and they made it ok, but it was a few days before we could reach them. Glad to hear supplies are there!
I am so very glad you and your family are okay. My other friends in Asheville faired okay however one is looking for temporary housing with family due to flooding. I understand the national guard from Florida has brought in some temporary bridge type of materials to help while repair construction begins. Thank you for the update and prayers for all involved.

4moWe arrived in #asheville on Thursday afternoon and eventually left by the i26 on Sunday morning. We were struck by the spirit of co-operation of the people of Asheville in the face of such adversity. We will be thinking of you and all fellow residents over the next months as the recovery operation continues
