In April 2023, over 1,000 graduate students at Syracuse University made history by forming the first student-led labor union at the university. A year later, they've won their first contract. They've also caught the attention of other university workers who've been inspired to organize their own unions. If the two groups currently organizing are successful about half of Syracuse University's workforce will be unionized.
