I almost signed up for a coding bootcamp to land a remote job. Back in 2019, working remotely was nearly impossible unless you were a software engineer. So I thought, “Why not learn to code?” Like it was that easy. I took a few online classes but I didn’t understand a thing. And worse, I realized coding just wasn’t my thing. Seeing where this was heading, I decided to quit the lessons and instead put all my effort into finding a remote sales role. I figured if software engineers can work remotely, I should target companies that offer software services. And that’s how I ended up at IT Crowd, doing sales for a fully remote software company. Always grateful to Alejandro Isacovich, Pablo Wolfus, and Gabriel Falciola for giving me that shot. Fast forward five years, and remote work is the norm. Now, I’m at Athyna, helping companies build world-class remote teams. Be clear about what you want and keep exploring different paths. Whether you succeed or not, you’ll gain valuable lessons along the way. And I’m glad I quit that bootcamp—saved myself from building apps full of bugs.
