Once heavily dependent on foreign military technology, Pakistan is now emerging as a global defence supplier, capable of competing in advanced markets. This transformation, led by organisations such as the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS), underscores the country’s evolution from a regional player to a serious contender in the international arms trade. Azerbaijan’s recent induction of the JF-17C Block-III into its air force highlights the success of Pakistan’s defence exports.
