We wish everyone a safe and #spooky Halloween! We wish all those who are Trick-or-Treating tonight a safe night of fun! For homeowners welcoming spooky visitors tonight, here are some handy tips: 🎃 Keep your entry way clear - costumes can compromise sight lines and can get caught on extra clutter 🎃 Keep the Lights on - Turn on exterior lighting for steps and pathways (of course turn them off if you aren't wanting visitors, or if you run out of treats) 🎃 Remove Debris - slippery leaves, sticks, outdoor furniture, children's toys etc 🎃 Keep pets inside - Not all animals enjoy Halloween as much as we do! Costumes and masks could make an otherwise friendly pet very nervous. 🎃 Skip the Candles - Find an alternative to candles for your Jack-O'-Lanterns, or if you are using candles, don't leave them unsupervised 🎃 If you're driving during prime Trick-or-Treating time stay alert, especially in residential areas, excited families can pop out of anywhere! #MutualInsurance #HalloweenSafety #staysafe #trickortreat

👻✨ Trick-or-Treating Tips for a Safe Halloween Night! ✨👻 Halloween should be full of treats—not tricks—when it comes to safety. Here’s how to keep little ones (and homes) protected: Light the Way: Make sure walkways and porches are well-lit to prevent trips and falls. Clear Hazards: Move any obstacles or decorations that could be a tripping hazard for trick-or-treaters. Safe Costumes: Opt for flame-resistant, well-fitting costumes with reflective elements so kids can be easily seen. Fire Pits: Keep the open flame guarded, gated, and away from the little costumes walking past! Inspect Treats: Only allow kids to eat pre-packaged candy, and check everything before digging in. From all of us, have a safe and spooktacular Halloween! 🎃 . . . #HalloweenSafety #TrickOrTreating #FamilySafety #lcfmins #lincolncountyfarmersmutual #momutual #smallandstrong #propertyinsurance #homeowner #homeinsurance #farminsurance #propertyandcasualty #logipops

“We can’t go out when there are fireworks on. We were caught out last year in Manchester while visiting family. We left early at 1pm, but the train broke down, so we were stuck for hours. By the time we got back, it was already dark. It was awful. Eddie was trying to hide in shop doorways and wouldn’t walk. He was still so frightened the next day. He didn’t want to go out, didn’t want to eat” Guide dog owner Amanda with guide dog Eddie. Ahead of Bonfire night weekend, our new poll suggests that more than a quarter of working guide dogs have a significant negative reaction to fireworks 🎆 26% of guide dog owners reported that their guide dogs show signs of fear and distress when hearing fireworks, with a range of reactions such as trembling, pacing, panting or barking. A further 12% of owners stated that their guide dogs are noticeably uncomfortable when fireworks are going off nearby. We’re urging people to attend organised local displays this year. Such events adhere to set times and dates so allow guide dog owners and other dog owners to prepare. Read our fireworks advice for dog owners 👉 https://bit.ly/3GqT88e [Visual descriptions: Image one shows golden retriever Eddie with his head lying on owner Amanda's knees, wearing his harness and looking up to camera] #Fireworks #BonfireNight #FireworksSafety #GuideDogs #GuideDog #DogOwners #Advice #Tips

🎆 Happy Bonfire Night! 🎆 We all love a good fireworks display, but remember—Bonfire Night can be tough for our pets 🐾! Here are some top tips to keep them safe and calm: 1. Create a Safe Space: Set up a cosy, quiet room with familiar blankets and toys. Let your pet hide away if they need to. 2. Muffle the Noise: Close windows and curtains to reduce the noise. You can even play gentle music or TV to help mask the sound. 3. Stay Calm: Pets pick up on our vibes, so try to keep a relaxed, soothing presence. 4. Skip the Garden Fireworks: Organized displays are far more impressive and safer for everyone! Let’s support local events and enjoy a spectacular, hassle-free show. 🌠 5. Keep your dog on a lead. Even if you're letting them out in your garden for their final toilet of the day, pop them on a lead just in case. 6. Bring outdoor hutches inside - the garage or shed for example - to help muffle the noise and cover lightly with a blanket for the night. Have a fun and safe Bonfire Night, and give your furry friends a little extra comfort tonight! 🐶🐱 #bonfirenight #guyfawkesnight #fireworkssafety

A nice, safe, autumn campfire or bonfire? Great! 👍 (s'mores optional, but encouraged) Dryer fire? BAD. VERY BAD. 👎 (and 100% do not cook s'mores on a burning clothes dryer, please) In fact, outside of the kitchen, clothes dryers are one of the top causes of house fires—and lint and dust are the main triggers, especially in your dryer vent and duct. Avoid having a home #horrorstory to tell around the campfire with these tips to help prevent dryer fires: https://bit.ly/3ZLNutA #Halloween #Spooktober

🎃 Halloween Safety Reminder! 🎃 🔥 Did you know that between 2018–2022, there was an average of 835 home structure fires each year caused by decorations? Resulting in an annual average of: 3 deaths 30 injuries $14 million in property damage 🕯️ Nearly half of these fires occurred because decorations were too close to heat sources, like candles or hot equipment. In fact, 32% of these fires were started by candles! 🎃 Stay safe this season! Keep your spooky décor away from heat sources, and consider using battery-operated lights instead of open flames.
