NDF offers grants to support regional partnerships (Eastern Neighborhood) Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Civil society actors (including media) from the Eastern Neighborhood Countries (ENC) — Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine can apply. The New Democracy Fund (NDF) launches a new call to support regional partnerships and cross-country/cross-thematic alliances. Civil society actors can apply in partnership with either a minimum of one other civil society actor from at least one other ENC country; a Danish civil society actor; or a minimum of one other civil society actor from the same ENC country. This includes CSOs, social movements, media, academia, trade unions, community-based groups, and cultural, educational and knowledge institutions. Projects should align with one of NDF’s themes: youth, media, culture, labor market, or green and just transition and the cross-cutting priorities: gender, human rights or inclusion. Applicants can request up to DKK400,000 (EUR53,000). The call will also accept applications from ENC organizations without a partner; the maximum amount for that grant is DKK100,000 (EUR13,400). https://lnkd.in/e7Dt-BuR

You deserve to be heard! During our last #EESCPlenary, we called for a strategy on civil dialogue to fortify participatory democracy, in collaboration with the European Commission. We are eager to promote a space where everyone can contribute and make a difference. Civil society's participation should go beyond consultation and information. As the house of organised civil society, we are committed to listen to EU citizens' voice through events such as our Civil Society Week and our Youth Group pilot project. Civic engagement can strengthen the legitimacy of our union and build a more inclusive and democratic Europe. Let's bet on it! Read the adopted opinion: europa.eu/!7P7gXw #CivilDialogue #EUDemocracy

With the shrinking civic space, human rights actors must come together to discuss the question of aid; what does it look like in this day and aid, is it achieving its intended end, what other pools can we get aid from. Happy to have been apart of this conversation CivSource Africa

Among the greatest causes for African youth should be to defend democracy, deepen it and continuously breathe life in it. Democracy should be seen as a public good – a resource that everyone should have an equal right to everywhere. No one should be excluded from being part of a democracy or receiving its benefits. To understand and tackle the systemic barriers that underpin modern slavery, UNU-CPR and The Freedom Fund today launched a new report uncovering how access to official documentation perpetuates modern slavery. An estimated 850 million people worldwide lack official documentation, a plight that disproportionately affects women, the youth, rural dwellers and migrants, among others. Without official documentation, these individuals remain invisible to policymakers and service providers, and are more likely to be trapped in cycles of exploitation. The report explores this critical link – one that affects those on the margins of society and is largely overlooked in global efforts to combat modern slavery. Please check out my latest opinion piece in the #HaitianTimes on the need for a true inclusive dialogue in Haiti. I make several arguments in favor of a Citizen’s Assembly as a viable route to salvage democracy in Haiti. “Implementing a dialogue that respects every citizen, addresses pressing issues, and charts a transformative course for Haiti is the paramount challenge. While daunting, deliberative democracy emerges as a promising avenue. Deliberation entails citizens engaging in meaningful discourse to grapple with complex issues and forge shared solutions. In Haiti, a Citizen’s Assembly stands as an inclusive platform to establish a new social contract grounded in justice and broad-based prosperity.”
