Welcome to Harwell, UK Space Agency!
Great news. I think some energy efficient public transport from the train station to the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus is required.

8moI can completely understand the logic for the UK Space Agency moving to Harwell and I am sure that from a space policy perspective being a stone's throw from ECSAT, RAL, SAC, R100/NSTF and the many space businesses on campus will be a huge improvement. I do feel a bit sorry for this who have been used to walking the 400m from Swindon station to Polaris House faced with the absence of viable alternatives to the motor car to travel to Harwell. The walk from Didcot Parkway takes an hour and a half. Anyone who has struggled to navigate the cycle path through Upton or compete with the traffic on Wantage Road and Newbury Road knows that the half hour cycle up from Didcot Parkway is not a safe option. The idiosyncrasies of the X34 and X35, stuck in the same traffic jams as motorists trying to navigate the over crowded roads may be tolerated, but it also takes half an hour on the occasions it sticks to its timetable. So UKSA employees who want to use their time efficiently, will be forced to drive like everyone else, increasing the load on the Thomson entrance car park and the new multi storey. What is the campus doing to provide an environmentally sustainable means to accommodate all the people that are being drawn to the site?
