As a former aerospace engineer who specialized in vehicle aerodynamics, I consider this design not just ahead of its time but an engineering marvel. With an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.113, this vehicle could slip through the air with a 172% more efficiency than today's most reputed fuel-efficient vehicle, the 2023 Toyota Prius! Beyond its engineering might, the vehicle was unpretentiously simple yet undeniably elegant. This may sound controversial to people who like to find controversy, but I find the German vehicle design and engineering from WWII brilliant and futuristic, and in fact the base for the global aerospace and automotive development that followed. #AerospaceEngineering #VehicleAerodynamics #EngineeringMarvel #InnovativeDesign #FuelEfficiency #AerodynamicDrag #AutomotiveEngineering #WWIIGermanEngineering #EngineeringHistory #VehicleDesign #AutomotiveInnovation #EngineeringExcellence #FuturisticDesign #HistoricalEngineering

🚆 Partnership for the mobility of the future: ITK Engineering and Lenord+Bauer combine their strengths! 🚆 At InnoTrans 2024, we announced our partnership with Lenord+Bauer - together we are shaping the future of railway technology with the Magnetic Railway Onboard Sensor (MAROS). 🎥 Watch the video with Dr. Tobias Hofbaur, Program Manager Rail at ITK, and Ulrich Rink, Head of Business Unit Mobility at Lenord+Bauer, to find out more about: 🔹 The goals of the MAROS project: An innovative localization solution for rail vehicles that works precisely and track selectively - without additional infrastructure components. This is made possible by measuring the magnetic fingerprint of the rail. 🔹 Why Lenord+Bauer is involved: As a leading manufacturer of magnetic sensor technology and over 50 years of experience, Lenord+Bauer complements the project perfectly. The idea of localizing trains without infrastructural elements is an ideal match for their expertise. 🔹 Challenges and outlook: A key objective is to convince customers of the exceptional performance of the system and to jointly bring MAROS into real-life applications. Lenord+Bauer supplies the sensors, ITK the software - together we can achieve more than would be possible alone. ➡️ Curious? Watch the video and find out more about our vision for a more efficient, punctual and sustainable rail transport! We look forward to your feedback and sharing in the comments. 👇

In Denmark we're used to drink our water directly from the tap. However, drinking water is a limited resource that we must use carefully. What should we use drinking water for - and when can we use rainwater instead?💧 Professor Hans-Jørgen Albrechtsen from DTU Sustain has advised Aarhus Vand in a project where rainwater, drainage water, and surface water (secondary water) have been incorporated into the supply so that residents in the suburb of Nye use secondary water for toilet flushing and laundry. 🚽🧺 In the podcast 🎙️ “Vandkanten” https://lnkd.in/ddrgFA88 Hans-Jørgen Albrechtsen and Kristian Brunmark from Aarhus Vand talk, among other things, about the dilemma society faces when using secondary water instead of drinking water. The positive aspects of using secondary water in Nye are, for example: 🌿 The community used 40% less drinking water. 🌧️ Soft rainwater is more suitable for toilet flushing and laundry. It deposits less lime, requires less descaling/cleaning, and the washing machine lasts longer. 🏙️ The local area became more green and blue because water became integral to urban planning. 🌱 More nature came into the area because the rainwater was contained in lakes, along with animal and plant life. 👫 Residents took more responsibility for their water consumption. ⛈️ The area became less vulnerable to violent cloudbursts because the water was diverted and contained. Aspects worth a second thought: ⚡ Cleaning secondary water requires more energy consumption, which results in extra CO2 emissions. 🔄 The cleaning must be more flexible, as the quality of the water varies more. 🧪 New and more chemicals must be used to clean the water, and the effect on those in the environment has to be assessed. It's about balancing the positive gains regarding the drinking water resource against having to clean and treat secondary water differently or more than groundwater 🤔 So far all involved parties of this project see it as a step towards more sustainable use of our water ressources. 🧑🏭The Legacy of History: A Visit to the Hamburg Bunker During a recent visit to Hamburg, I had the opportunity to touch one of the most impressive and controversial legacies of the Second World War - the Flakturm IV bunker. This massive concrete structure, once intended to protect the city from air raids, today symbolizes not only the past, but also society's ability to transform pain into something meaningful. 🏛️ The story of the bunker Built in 1942, the bunker served as an anti-aircraft tower and shelter for tens of thousands of citizens. Its thick walls and strategic position have made it a key part of Hamburg's defense. But today it is much more than a historical relic – it is an example of sustainable urban development and cultural transformation. Today, the bunker is home to creative businesses, music studios and exhibition spaces. Visitors can see how a structure built for war has been transformed into a place of creativity and innovation. This visit made me think about the power of transformation – not only in an architectural aspect, but also in a human aspect. Regardless of our challenges, we can always find a way to rethink the difficulties and create something new and useful. If you are interested in history, sustainable development or just want to see how the past and the future can coexist, I recommend you visit this bunker in Hamburg. #hamburg #germany #b2b #business

https://lnkd.in/djnBGqHx Did you know! I'm deeply troubled by the fact that more than 200 million liters of biocide antifoul are carelessly dumped into our sea, coating the bottoms of our boats. The repercussions of this action are heart-wrenching, as each boat alone releases around 5.6 million microplastics into the ocean every year. It's imperative that we put an end to this harmful practice and instead adopt safe, non-toxic nano technology coatings. We owe it to our precious marine ecosystem to make this change immediately. Switch to non toxic nano technology coatings. Arivo.online
