Funding News: Clearway Energy Group secured a $700 million construction financing deal through a consortium of banks for solar and storage projects in California. Construction has started on the 200MW Luna Valley Solar Project in Fresno and the 113.5MW Daggett battery energy storage system in San Bernardino. Minnesota Power Announces Two Large Solar Projects Totaling Over 200 MW in Northern Minnesota Minnesota Power, a division of ALLETE Inc. has announced plans to build two major solar projects in northern Minnesota, advancing its commitment to a cleaner energy future while prioritizing regional renewable energy investments. Clearway Energy Group has secured financing and commenced construction on the Pine Forest Solar and Energy Storage Projects in Hopkins County, Texas. This $665 million investment includes a 300 MW solar project and a 200 MW standalone energy storage system. These projects will generate enough power for over 90,000 homes, supporting grid reliability and delivering low-cost, clean energy. Dell Technologies and Universal Corporation have contracted long-term agreements, furthering their sustainability goals. Dell's portion will help the company meet its U.S. renewable energy needs, while Universal's share will offset 100% of its electricity usage in the U.S. The Pine Forest projects will also benefit the local community by creating 350 construction jobs and generating more than $58 million in property taxes over the next two decades.
