Let’s just say, working with these Gen Z rebels wasn’t your typical internship experience. These students from Ladder Internships, founded by Harvard entrepreneurs, didn’t ask for hand-holding or applause—they just dove headfirst into the fire. 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑩: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝑶𝑽𝑰𝑫’𝒔 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒍 Check the Part A a post ago to understand fully... Here’s how the Grade 10 Summer Internship Program was structured: 1. 𝑪𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝑶𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔: Students shared their interests and aspirations—whether it was becoming a doctor, architect, entrepreneur, or media professional. I used this input to identify relevant organizations for internships. 2. 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕-𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑: I presented the idea to the PTA, who were thrilled. Many parents offered to connect us with organizations or host students in their businesses. 3. 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒖𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏: A team of teachers was assigned to visit students weekly, observe their work, and provide feedback on their progress. 4. 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔: After four weeks, students would present their experiences to a panel of judges, showcasing what they learned and how it shaped their goals. ♥️The idea received widespread support from school leadership, parents, and even the organizations we approached. Everything was set to launch in February 2020. But then COVID-19 struck. When schools reopened, I had moved to a new institution and pitched the idea again. Unfortunately, it didn’t gain traction. ♥️Fast forward to now—sharing this concept with my Singapore colleague reminded me of its potential. She’s excited to pitch it to her school leadership and has asked for my collaboration. 👍So, I’m putting it out there: 𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂 𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕, 𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆-𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅, 𝒍𝒆𝒕’𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕!
