A Simple Gesture That Brings Joy . . . In the hustle and bustle of school life, it’s easy for a few moments to slip by unnoticed. To make birthdays a little special, I decided to implement a small initiative: giving each student a fun sticker on their special day. In a world where big celebrations often steal the spotlight, it's essential to remember the power of small gestures. My effort to give stickers on student birthdays is a reminder that happiness can come from the simplest acts of kindness. Celebrating these milestones not only brings joy to students but also cultivates a positive environment where every child feels special. As I continue to grow and evolve, I look forward to seeing how this small initiative can spark their eyes and my connection with them. The Impact- ● The reactions from the students are heartwarming. ● A simple sticker sparked smiles and conversations, making them feel valued and noticed. ●They don't forget to give me candies🫣 Future Aspirations- Moving forward, I plan to expand this initiative by including the best of luck or all the best stickers for exams, fostering even more connection. #proudteacher #keeplearning #loveteaching #funwithlearn #lovekids

How can you encourage young children to embrace their individuality? 🐑 Why 'Mary had a little lamb' ? This is a great nursery rhyme for illustrating themes of friendship, loyalty, and the importance of accepting differences. 🔍 Resource highlights: ➡️ Diversity awareness activity: Encourage your children to share their favourite animals and discuss how each one represents different traits, locations (for example: 'do they live inside or outside?...where?') and stories. All of which highlight the beauty of difference - diversity - in our communities. ➡️ Musical skills focus: the phrasing (- formation of 'musical sentences') through the song encourage the children to breathe together when they get to the end of each phrase. Although you may think this is an insignificant fact, doing so helps them to feel more connected with each other, creating social bonds within the group. 💭 Reflection prompt: Invite the children to think about who, or what, provides a sense of security to them - it could be a person, special toy or other item. Different things will 'speak' to different people. And that's OK. By weaving nursery rhymes and diversity awareness together, we encourage young learners to celebrate differences and embrace their own identities at the same time as fostering a sense of community. Driving diversity awareness home!! 🚌 Why 'The wheels on the bus'? Just as with yesterday's nursery rhyme, this song celebrates community and collaboration, but it goes one step (or should that be 'wheel'?) further, by teaching respect for all our differences when considering the ways in which we all travel through life together. 🔍 Resource highlights: ➡️ Diversity awareness activity: Children can share their experiences of different types of transportation and discuss how diverse communities come together, emphasising that everybody should have a seat on the 'bus of life'! ➡️ Musical skills focus: there is so much you can do with this song - many of the actions and sound effects you will already know (and love! 😉), but have you ever thought about describing the geography of the bus journey while reflecting that in your singing? (for example; singing more slowly as it labours up a steep hill, and then really fast as it rolls down the other side etc., or how it will travel in different weathers around the world) 💭 Reflection prompt: Invite the children to think about how they can support and include others on their 'bus', fostering a supportive, tolerant, caring and inclusive community. By weaving nursery rhymes and diversity awareness together, we encourage young learners to celebrate differences and embrace their own identities at the same time as fostering a sense of community. Cultivating Values in Children: The Foundation for a Harmonious World As parents, educators, and mentors, one of our greatest responsibilities is to instill strong values, or "Sanskaar", in our children. Sanskaar refers to the ethical and moral values that form the foundation of an individual's character. These values include respect, empathy, honesty, and responsibility. They shape a child's behaviour, guiding them to make positive choices and to grow into conscientious adults. When children are raised with good values, they contribute to a more compassionate and respectful society. This brings us to the next concept "Sanskriti". Sanskriti, or culture, encompasses the collective behaviours, practices, and traditions of a community. It is the manifestation of our collective values and wisdom passed down through generations. A rich and positive culture fosters a sense of identity, belonging, and continuity. It is crucial for children to understand and appreciate their cultural heritage, as it anchors them and provides a moral compass. When Sanskaar are strong, our Sanskriti naturally flourishes. And a thriving culture enriches the "Sansaar", or world. Sansaar represents our broader social environment and the interconnectedness of all communities. A world built on strong cultural values is more harmonious, resilient, and progressive. It ensures that our children grow up in an environment that nurtures their potential and well-being. If we have nurtured our children with good values or "Sanskaar", it fosters a positive culture or what we call "Sanskriti” and contributed to a better world - "Sansaar", so we can face our final journey or "Antim Sanskaar" with peace, knowing we have fulfilled our responsibilities. Antim Sanskaar or final rites symbolizes the culmination of one's life and the legacy left behind. In conclusion, the circle of life is beautifully interwoven with these concepts. By focusing on instilling strong values in our children, we not only enhance our culture and world but also ensure that our own journey ends with fulfilment and peace. The cycle is a witness to the enduring impact of values across generations, shaping a better future for all. #ChildDevelopment #Parenting #Values #MoralValues #Culture #Ethics #Sanskaar #Sanskriti #Sansaar #Education #FamilyValues #World #Harmony #CharacterBuilding #LifeSkills #Community #PositiveParenting #GenerationalWisdom #PeacefulLiving #Legacy

🌍🎶 This week is World Nursery Rhyme Week! 🎶🌍 Nursery rhymes play a crucial role in early childhood development. They support children in learning language, enhancing their memory, and developing social skills. But did you know that they also link directly to the 7 areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage? Here’s how: 1. Communication and Language – Nursery rhymes help children develop vocabulary, improve listening skills, and practice the rhythm and tone of language. 2. Physical Development – Many nursery rhymes encourage movement, which helps develop fine and gross motor skills. 3. Personal, Social, and Emotional Development – Singing together fosters cooperation and boosts confidence. 4. Literacy – The repetitive nature of rhymes aids in phonemic awareness and supports early reading and writing. 5. Mathematical Development – Counting and sequencing in songs (like “One, Two, Buckle My Shoe”) help children with early numeracy skills. 6. Understanding the World – Nursery rhymes often tell stories that reflect everyday life, introducing children to cultural concepts and the world around them. 7. Expressive Arts and Design – Singing, dancing, and acting out rhymes promotes creativity and imaginative play. We all have our childhood favorites! 🎤 What’s your favourite nursery rhyme? For me, it’s always been “Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall….”. To help encourage the love of nursery rhymes, check out some fantastic products designed to promote singing and learning.
