Recruitment processes have gotten bloated, and it does not make for a good candidate experience. Bayshore HealthCare Northern Staffing takes a simplified approach. We make sure you meet the requirements of the role, and then we invite you to a 1-hour interview via teams. In that hour we openly talk about - 😷 The scope of the role 💸 The pay rate 🛅 Any applicable reimbursements 📃 What is required for onboarding 🤝 What the orientation looks like And then we ask a handful of traditional interview questions After the hour - we review and make a decision. 🚫 No take home assessments 🚫 No 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th, or 5th interview 🚫 No weeks long processes to find out if you have made it. If you are an RN or a Paramedic anywhere in Canada and would like to explore staffing assignments in remote communities across Northern Canada, connect with me, or go to https://lnkd.in/eaeq9Xd6 to learn more #healthcare #nurse #paramedic #hiring #recruitment #RN #ACP #PCP

Time spent…. When my husband was on active duty before he retired from the Army, as a military spouse, I saw several changes. One of the most significant changes was that the government started contracting companies to provide certain services on military bases. This took off and grew within a matter of time. I even worked for a contract company on the base formerly known as “Fort Bragg.” Working for the contract company gave me some background on what I do today. This is to help those organizations that might be skeptical about contracting an external agency to assist with their healthcare staffing needs. Here are some benefits of what we can do: ➡️Build a networking pool of qualified applicants Example: Provide clear and precise communication that opens the door to a more significant path, no matter what the person seeks. ➡️Talk with the applicants immediately without waiting. Their resumes are not stored inside an application tracking system until someone can access them. (At least a 24-hour turnaround for communication) Example: Making over 100+ calls to connect with qualified applicants. ➡️We only work the jobs that we have been provided diligently, effectively, and efficiently Example: Within the last 6 months, 6 placements have moved forward to advancing their careers with great organizations, especially when filling difficult positions like Registered Dental Hygienist. ➡️Solution: We set up communication that works even when sleeping. (We have to consider applicants who work different shifts, which means they apply for jobs at any time of the day or night.) Example: Emails are not shut off during resting hours, alerts are set, and those emails are answered first thing in the morning when the business day starts. ➡️Helping fill vacancies that are permanent full-time positions listed on the job board for 3 months or more. These are just a few to mention when there is so much more. What do you have to lose? As a contracted external healthcare recruiter, I do not get paid unless my applicant is hired, and that’s real talk. Reach out, and let’s talk!

Question: When did being “overqualified” become a scarlet letter in hiring? What impact does being 'overqualified' have on hiring decisions? My partner volunteers at a hospital, and she genuinely enjoys the work. It helps her stay grounded while she completes medical school and keeps her connected to the community she hopes to serve after graduation. Recently, she was invited to interview for a role at the hospital after being referred by the volunteer coordinator. During the interview, the panel was surprised to learn about her extensive qualifications—multiple master’s degrees, medical school achievements, experience as a doula with over 500 births, and her undergraduate education at Colorado College. They cited these qualifications as reasons for being “too overqualified” for the position. This was surprising, especially since my partner saw herself as highly capable and enthusiastic about the role. She did not demand a salary that was commensurate of her background, she simply wanted to be apart of something bigger and more impactful. Sidenote: I want to clarify that I’m not criticizing the hospital; it’s a fantastic organization, and I admire their work! My intention is to understand the reasoning behind this trend, as I’m eager to learn and make the most of the time I have left on this planet. When did being “overqualified” become a negative factor in hiring? This trend doesn’t make sense to me, and it’s not the first time I’ve encountered such a comment. #CareerAdvice #JobSearch #Overqualified #HiringTrends #ResumeTips #EmploymentIssues #JobInterviews #CareerDevelopment #WorkplaceCulture #ProfessionalGrowth #MedicalSchool #VolunteerWork #JobMarket #HiringChallenges #CareerPath #JobQualifications #CareerOpportunities #WorkplaceTrends #EmploymentAdvice #JobHunting #CareerSuccess

The Fast Lane to Top Talent: Why Speed in Recruitment Matters A well-respected care home was on the lookout for a new senior nurse. After weeks of carefully reviewing applications and conducting interviews, they found the perfect fit—let’s call her Sarah. She had the right qualifications, experience, and a compassionate approach that matched the care home's values. Everything seemed ideal. But they hesitated. Internal discussions dragged on, and finalizing the offer took longer than expected. When they finally reached out to Sarah, her response was, “I’ve already accepted another offer.” The lesson? Speed matters, especially in industries like healthcare, where talent is in high demand. When you find the right candidate, don’t let delays cost you the perfect hire. #SpeedMatters #RecruitmentStrategy #HealthcareHiring #TalentAcquisition #HiringSuccess

"Don't get into senior living unless you want to stay there forever." A guest speaker said this during the last year of my Health Services Administration degree. He did not mean it as a positive. From his view, hospitals and other healthcare organizations rarely hired people from long-term care or senior living. It didn't deter me from joining the industry, but that comment has stuck with me over the past 20+ years. He was right, but not for the intended reason. I don't believe senior living experience makes you a less desirable job candidate. He was right because this industry provides such immense satisfaction that many people WANT to stay here forever. #seniorliving #seniorlivingprofessionals #seniorlivingsales #salesandmarketing #seniorshousing #lovewhatyoudo
