On this World Mental Health Day, the theme resonates deeply: Mental Health at Work. The numbers are staggering—12 billion working days lost each year to depression and anxiety, costing the global economy $1 trillion in lost productivity. But behind these numbers are real people, like you, and your colleagues. Each of us carries the weight of daily life, amplified by workplace pressures. For some, getting through the day can feel impossible. And yet, we continue, often silently. But it’s time to break that silence. Workplaces should be spaces where we feel valued, supported, and understood—not just in what we produce, but in how we feel. As leaders from around the world have shared, vulnerability starts at the top. Leaders who share their mental health stories empower others to speak up, too. This World Mental Health Day, let's commit to more than just awareness. Let’s commit to action—building resilient, supportive environments where mental health is a priority, not a side note. Because when we support each other, we all thrive. Remember, it’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to ask for help. Let’s create workplaces that care. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAtWork #SupportAtWork #MentalWellbeing #WorkplaceWellness #BreakTheSilence #PrioritizeMentalHealth

Shining a Light on World Mental Health Day 💡 Today, I want to acknowledge everyone who may be struggling - many of whom are fighting battles in silence. Poor mental health has far-reaching consequences, not only for those directly affected but also for their family, friends, and colleagues who often feel helpless. World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to break down the stigma and open the channels of communication. As employers, we play a vital role in creating a workplace that supports mental wellbeing - both emotional and physical. This means not only managing issues when they arise but also focusing on prevention. I understand that some leaders may still see this as overreaching, but the truth is, workplace practices like micromanagement, micro-aggressions, the juggle, burnout, 24/7/365 culture and conflict can contribute significantly to poor mental health. We have a duty of care to create environments where mental health is supported and prioritised. Together, we can foster workplaces that value wellbeing for all. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #WellbeingAtWork #Leadership #WorkplaceWellbeing

42% of employees are struggling. Are you one of them? 🤔 As we kick off Mental Health awareness month today, let's understand what exactly is mental health? The World Health Organization defines it as: 'A state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.' Key takeaways: 1️⃣ It's not just the absence of illness 2️⃣ It encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being 3️⃣ It's a spectrum, not a binary state Why does this matter in the corporate world? According to a recent McKinsey & Company report, 42% of employees globally have reported a decline in mental health since the start of the pandemic. This isn't just a personal issue—it's impacting businesses too. The silver lining? Companies are taking notice. Google for instance, has implemented 'resilience training' programs to help employees manage stress and boost mental wellbeing. Mental health isn't just about managing illness—it's about fostering a state where we can thrive, both personally and professionally. How do you take care of your mental health? Share your thoughts so that others can learn too.. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #CorporateWellness #MindfulnessMatters"

MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK: The Impact on Individuals ‼️ We’re two days away from WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY, and the theme this year is all about “It’s Time to Prioritize MENTAL HEALTH in the WORKPLACE”. Yesterday, we talked about the importance of planning. Today, let’s look at the real-life impact when mental health isn’t supported in the workplace. What happens when mental health is ignored? 👉🏽CONFIDENCE is crushed. People feel like they’re failing—when, in reality, they’re struggling without support. 👉🏽WORK LOSES ITS SPARK. The job they once enjoyed now feels like a weight they carry. 👉🏽PRODUCTIVITY dips. It’s not about laziness—mental health affects how we show up, every day. 👉🏽ABSENTEEISM rises. People take more time off because the stress and anxiety become unbearable. 👉🏽CAREER GROWTH stalls. Without support, many are held back from reaching their full potential. And it’s not just the individual who feels it - coworkers, friends at work and family members - all experience the pressure. They’re often balancing their own lives while trying to help someone they care about cope with their mental health struggles. This is why MENTAL HEALTH AT WORK matters. It’s not just a nice-to-have. It’s essential for people to thrive—both at work and at home. How can you make sure your workplace is one where people can actually feel supported? OXO, Eve #MentalHealthAtWork #SupportMatters #WorldMentalHealthDay #ThrivingAtWork #WellBeingEveryday

This is a call to action for leaders, HR professionals, and every single one of us to prioritize mental health initiatives, foster environments where taking a break is encouraged, and where speaking up about mental health issues is met with support, not stigma.
