Rapid Response: Diagnosing and Treating Acute Myocardial Infarction in the Golden Hour - Dr Ravindranath Reddy D R Acute myocardial infarction (AMI), commonly known as a heart attack, remains a leading cause of mortality worldwide. Timely diagnosis and intervention within the first hour, known as the "golden hour," can significantly improve survival rates and outcomes. This critical period demands swift action to restore blood flow to the heart muscle, minimizing damage and preserving cardiac function. Did you know people with atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart condition, have a significantly higher risk of stroke? To help AFib patients reduce their risk, a device can be implanted, greatly reducing the risk of clots and possibly reducing the need for blood thinners. To learn more visit https://bit.ly/4bRwQeo.

🚨 Case Study: Diagnosing and Managing WPW Syndrome 🚨 A male patient presented to the ER with sudden onset syncope and a raised heart rate. 📉 ECG Interpretation: The patient had a narrow complex tachycardia, suggestive of orthodromic WPW syndrome (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome). Management Approach: 1️⃣ First-line: Perform vagal maneuvers. 2️⃣ If unsuccessful, administer IV adenosine. 3️⃣ If adenosine fails, consider beta blockers or procainamide. Important Note: If associated with Atrial Fibrillation (AF): Avoid beta blockers and calcium channel blockers (CCBs), as they can worsen conduction through the accessory pathway. WPW syndrome requires a quick and systematic approach to prevent complications. Accurate diagnosis and appropriate management can make a critical difference. This is a rare case of RV hypoplasia in a dog. Right ventricle hypoplasia (RVH) is a rare congenital heart disease (CHD). There have been reported isolated cases, therefore the prevalence couldn’t be determined yet. Based on scientific publications, this affliction has a prevalence lower than the occurrence of left ventricle (LV) hypoplasia (1:100 000) in human medicine. This patient had also significant VSD and LVOT obstruction. We did a bubble study from multiple views to confirm complete absence of apical portion of the right ventricle. #RareHeartCondition #Echocardiogram #Cardiology #HeartHealth #MedicalDiagnosis #CardiacCare #MedicalImaging #HealthcareProfessionals #CardiacDiagnostics #Echocardiography #HeartConditionDiagnosis #RareDiseaseAwareness

Underutilization of GDMT is a global health crisis. We need to breakdown traditional barriers to make sure all patients have access to lifesaving GDMT in a rapid fashion. As physicians, we need to take the lead in referring patients to HF clinics, pharmacy programs and industry partners that are specifically designed to facilitate GDMT titration. Being territorial with our patients is a legacy way of practicing medicine and leads to shorter lives, more symptoms and higher costs. #GDMTpartnerships #HFoutcomes #ventriclehealth Anita Kelkar MD, MPH Greg Egnaczyk Marat Fudim Georges Chahoud, MD, FACC, FAHA, FHFSA, FASE Sean O'Donnell Jason Kemmer Eric Prince

Do not underestimate the power of GDMT for heart failure Improving utilization of GDMT could lead to considerable mortality benefits on a global level. Even partial improvements in the use of GDMT has the potential to result in a substantial number of lives saved

Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of heart arrhythmia, affecting nearly 1% of the population under age 60 and more than 6% of people over 80. In the USA alone, it is estimated that 2.2 million people have paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation. Review the causes and the risks of atrial fibrillation and the types of treatments for this condition in this #ClinicalView white paper. #PatientMonitoring
