Healthcare is definitely an industry that is for global collaboration but also that will continue to be using innovative technology - hence AI being used for radiology, imagery, patient care, and etc.

Digital health — from the secure and interoperable access to health data to AI-based tools supporting decision-making and personalized therapy — is a core ingredient of the transformation to expand from “diagnose + cure” to proactively predict and prevent. 💡 Digital health’s helps to overcome silos and thereby promises significant cost-savings. 🇪🇺 This is as much an European effort as on the national level. 👍 I am looking forward to the contributions through the expertise of Günter Schreier on behalf of EARTO and its RTOs joined in the WG Healthcare, so #EHDS and other transitions make better healthcare and healthier life possible. 🗓️ The next eHSG meeting is coming up soon, with plenty on the agenda — will be there.

In my conversations with NHS boards, there is a recurring theme: the weariness caused by constant benchmarking, cost improvement programmes, and relentless productivity targets. This cycle often leads to a feeling of "here we go again" and results in a disproportionate focus on managing upwards at the expense of quality and care for staff and patients.
The struggle between short-term fixes and long-term solutions, as well as the influence of politics, is ever-present. Cost improvement programmes (CIPs) have resurfaced as a primary tool, but their effectiveness is questionable. There is growing evidence that they may inadvertently worsen the situation as blunt instruments - an unintended consequence.
How do we break this cycle, and are there alternative approaches?
Join my esteemed colleagues, Mark Jennings, Prof Sir Muir Gray, Dr Dilshaad Ali, Claire Wilson and John Grinnell, who will delve into these issues and offer insights and solutions. We will explore perspectives that prioritise patients and staff in healthcare transformation, with a focus on creating value for all stakeholders.
