Another fantastic Saturday at the Healthed Australia Medical update at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) 🙌 ✅ 1,000+ doctors in attendance ✅ Countless engaging discussions What really stood out? The shift in doctors' perspectives on AI. Last year, there was alot of uncertainty and skepticism. This year? Curiosity. While there are still questions, more doctors are asking "how?" rather than "if". They are starting to plan for the shift and actively reviewing various platforms to make informed decisions about AI-powered solutions for their practice. Many now understand that AI won’t replace clinicians, but clinicians using AI will definitely replace those who aren't. They agree—AI is the future of medical documentation. Even the few who remain hesitant recognise that especially for the next generation of clinicians, AI will be a standard part of their practice setup. Whether welcomed or not, many are beginning to explore and compare what's available. A big thank you to the incredible HealthEd team, led by Ramesh Manocha, for giving us these opportunities to connect with clinicians and have these valuable conversations. We are always grateful for it and look forward to the next one! Another special shoutout to Angus McGlynn 🚀 and Rylan Blanch at Refract for their last-minute help with our banner design. If you’re looking for a brand and marketing agency, I highly recommend checking them out! #AIinHealthcare #FutureOfMedicine #HealthTech #startups

Our afternoon was rounded out with panels focused on #venturecapital in #healthcare, the impact of digital innovation on #healthoutcomes and #telehealth. 💰Much funding from venture capital was misplaced during the pandemic. The market is now wiser about how and where to invest, and claims of using will #AI no longer cause VC to flock. “If you build it, they won’t come. Just because you have tech doesn’t mean you will have impact.” (Alyssa Jaffee) 📈Start ups in healthcare have also shifted success criteria - it is less about getting a number of users on a platform, and more about the actual outcomes they can drive. Panelists advised tech companies to 1) focus on driving the best outcomes possible, 2) starting with the outcome you want to enable, 3) ensuring you have a solid #memberengagement strategy, 4) all while on a secure platform. 💻Telehealth panelists shared stories of expansion to cover new types of patients / service lines and the overall high satisfaction marks from participating clinicians. hims & hers proudly can boast a 97% primary clinician retention rate in a day and age of huge shortages. These companies are also embracing AI, using it to create #personalizedmedicine recommendations in #behavioralhealth, stratify risk for patients in real time for boots-on-the-ground community workers to know and even in a research study at Talkspace on a provider’s level of empathy and impact with a patient. #DHSummit Modern Healthcare [Post 6 of 7]

In this Tatler Gen.T story, I spoke with Dr. Kev Lim, a former doctor turned entrepreneur, embarked on a remarkable journey from stethoscopes to startups. 🚀 His health tech venture, Qmed Asia, has evolved significantly since its inception. Let’s dive into the inspiring story behind this transition: 👉 The Catalyst: Dr. Lim’s experience with long patient queues triggered his entrepreneurial spirit. He recognized the pain points in healthcare delivery and decided to create solutions. 👉 From Clinics to Code: Armed with insights from his medical background, Dr. Lim co-founded Qmed Asia in January 2019. Initially focused on queue management, the startup quickly expanded its horizons. 👉 Beyond Queues: Qmed Asia’s journey involved rebranding as QmedAsia in early 2022. They onboarded over 4,000 healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) from both public and private sectors, serving more than 2 million patients nationwide. Their platform managed over 11 million bookings by January 2022. 👉 AI-Powered Chatbots: Dr. Lim’s team ventured into AI, developing chatbots that assist doctors in diagnosing and analyzing medical data. 🤖 👉 Profitability: QmedAsia achieved the rare feat of profitability among startups. In 2022, they reported US$2.8 million (RM12.5 million) in audited revenue and US$380,000 (RM1.7 million) in net profit. 👉 Strategic Funding: Kev’s strategic choices included angel investors, a RM450,000 grant from Cradle Fund, and a successful RM5.1 million equity crowdfund campaign on Leet Capital in April 2023. #HealthTech #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #AI #StartupSuccess

As a judge, my approach is not about superiority or having all the answers. Instead, it’s about exploring the strengths and weaknesses of both the startup and its founder(s). With an open mind and a third-eye perspective, I aim to identify the gaps, highlight their core strengths, and suggest areas where they can improve or innovate to stand out and achieve success. This journey is always a two-way exchange—while I share my experience, I also learn from the incredible insights and perspectives of these bold innovators. This year, the stakes are higher than ever. The field is brimming with outstanding HealthTech companies leveraging advanced technologies #AI #GenerativeAI #VirtualReality to empower patients, providers, systems, and payers—driving true #HealthEquity on both local and global scales #CrossBorderCare Kudos to all the participants for your hard work and vision! 💡 Evolving HealthTech Startup Priorities: From Diagnostics to Data-Driven Solutions Over the Last Decade An analysis by R2GConnect.com of over 2,300 digital health startups founded between 2015 and 2024 reveals a decade-long shift in focus. While #diagnostics dominated early on, #AI and #data-centric healthcare now lead the field. This transition reflects how startups are aligning more closely with changing market needs and the growing demand for data-driven health solutions. Some of the Insights: - #Diagnostics & #Detection: Diagnostics startups were huge in 2019 (making up 28% of launches) but dropped to only 4% after the pandemic. - #Telehealth & #RPM: Telemedicine and remote patient monitoring surged during COVID-19, though demand cooled quickly afterward—showing the risks of early entry. - #AI Tools: AI in health steadily grew from 2015, but since 2022, it’s surged, with startups focusing on data analytics and integration for personalized and predictive care. - Other Solutions: Areas like #ClinicalTrials, digital therapeutics (#DTx), and symptom #tracking have stayed steady at about 5% of launches. For healthcare companies, there’s a strong pool of experienced partners in high-demand areas like AI and telehealth, though niche needs may take more time to find the right fit. 📌 To learn more: https://lnkd.in/dbdGPbmE #healthtech #healthcarestrategy #innovationmanagement #marketinsights

My prediction - the next unicorn in healthtech won't be a fancy gadget. It will be the company that cracks integrated healthcare at scale. Why? • 40% of patients struggle with fragmented care • Integrated systems cut costs by 20% • Patient satisfaction soars with coordinated treatment The challenge? Building interoperable systems that work across providers. Though it is complex but the potential is enormous: • AI-driven diagnostics • Real-time health monitoring • Predictive care based on population data We are not just coding. We are reshaping healthcare delivery. Startups, this is your moment. Who's working on solving this integration challenge? #HealthTechStartups #FutureOfHealthcare #TechInnovation
