Health Equity Collective’s Post

Texas has the highest number of uninsured residents in the country. As the Collective coordinates care to address non-medical drivers of health, we know the vital role addressing healthcare coverage plays in the process.    This past Monday, the Policy Workgroup invited Emily Brizzolara-Dove from Texas 2036 to present findings from their “Who are the uninsured?” report to explain the details behind uninsured Texans. https://lnkd.in/g3Y3bue2   Some key findings include: 🔹 Of the uninsured population, a majority (56%) are eligible for either ACA subsidies, Medicaid, or CHIP. These groups comprise nearly 2.7 million of the state’s 4.9 million uninsured individuals. 🔹 Among populations eligible for subsidized health insurance through the ACA, many appear to be eligible for subsidies large enough to cover the full premium cost of at least one plan.   This report provides a few practical solutions that our community can implement to address this coverage gap.   To view this presentation and other HEC presentations, you can visit our YouTube channel here: https://lnkd.in/gxakXFGp
