The All NEMO Committee held its second Annual Conference on September 19th in Athens 🇬🇷, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage, as Greece is the cradle of Western democracy, philosophy, and the arts 🏛️. 📣In this context, I would like to share some messages: ✅ There was #unanimous #support for the Electricity Market Design Reform #EMDReform. Though it was initiated during a challenging time for Europe, it has produced highly positive results👏. #NEMOs have been recognized as one of the key pillars of the EMD reform, which acknowledges the benefits of the current Single Day-ahead #SDAC and Intraday #SIDC Couplings. These have contributed significantly to well-functioning short-term markets across Europe 🇪🇺 ⚠️ It is crucial to ensure that the review process for capacity allocation and congestion management #CACM safeguards the #operational #security and reliability of our #SDAC & #SIDC, building on the solid foundation of existing market coupling governance. ✅ The extension of our #SDAC & #SIDC to the #EnergyCommunity #Contracting parties is one of the most relevant projects #NEMOs are dealing with. ✅ In June, #NEMOs, in collaboration with #TSOs, successfully implemented Intraday Auctions #IDAs at the EU level, introducing a new market segment that offers Europe #enhanced #trading #opportunities within the intraday time horizon 🕒 ✅ We are also dedicating significant resources to implementing the #15minute Market Time Unit (#MTU) in SDAC #Next_year 🗓️. This crucial development will provide greater time #granularity to all market participants ⏱️ ✅ The European institutions can rely on the continued support of NEMOs in this new 🇪🇺#EU cycle 🔄. The All NEMO Committee is committed to offering its full support and expertise to President Von der Leyen and the future College of Commissioners. ✅Various elements of the #EUGreenDeal rely on a market-based approach, and our #SDAC and #SIDC mechanisms are delivering the right signals for Europeans to invest in low-carbon technologies 🌍🔋 #MoreEurope 🇪🇺 and #MoreMarkets will be pivotal in delivering a decarbonized 🌱 and competitive EU 💪

📊 Excited to share our ‘Needs Assessment Report’ from the EBSI-VECTOR project! 🌍 The EBSI-Vector project is advancing #EBSI use cases in education and social security domains for full implementation across Europe. This report provides a comprehensive look at institutional and use case-specific needs for implementation. Our survey with public officials, country representatives, and project owners within the EBSI ecosystem revealed key insights: 🔍 Value Recognition vs. Bureaucratic Resistance: Despite some resistance, the value of EBSI for public services, confidence-building, and business enhancement is clear. More clarity in regulations and increased interoperability are crucial for wider adoption. 🎓Education Sector: While high standardization in European education eases implementation, capacity constraints and knowledge gaps remain. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) show greater readiness, while secondary education needs more effort. 🏥Social Security Sector: Implementation is complex due to the digital divide. Tailored strategies for digital readiness and organisational preparedness are needed. 💡 Recommendations: - Prioritise investments in workforce development, regulatory clarity, and stakeholder engagement. - Enhance communication and awareness initiatives to overcome bureaucratic resistance. 🚀 Upcoming Developments in 2024: #Europeum: Launched in May 2024, Europeum will be crucial for creating a production-grade network for EBSI use cases. #eIDAS 2.0: eIDAS 2.0 will clarify the #QTSP requirements for EBSI Vector use cases. Our collaboration with the European Blockchain Sandbox is shedding light on the best approaches for an eIDAS-compliant EBSI use case. 🙏 Special thanks to all partners of European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI), Jose Manuel Panizo Plaza, Daniël Du Seuil, Roman Beck, Signe Agerskov, Dr. Tamara Roth, Michael Räckers, Steffen Schwalm, Nacho Alamillo Domingo, Nena Dokuzov, Piotr Rutkowski, Christophe M., Digital Credentials For Europe, INATBA - International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications, Vincenzo Savarino, Nuria Rodríguez López, PMP®, SMPC®, KU Leuven Public Governance Institute 📄 Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/e2SxayDZ #EBSI #Blockchain #PublicAdministration #DigitalTransformation
