They rarely miss you, but when they do, you know it from the fuzzy head searching out your occupied hands. Double Win Realty has adopted cats, rescued kittens from beneath mobile homes, fostered cats until they were old enough to be adopted... 10% of the income earned from YOUR business referrals is donated to your choice of Friends of the Hancock County Animal Shelter OR Crusaders for Veterans. Have some good news <3
EVERY👏🏼KENNEL👏🏼EMPTY👏🏼 We are shocked, grateful, overjoyed, humbled, and PROUD of the way our community showed up for the animals in need in Dorchester County. There are officially NO DOGS & NOT CATS left on campus at Dorchester Paws🎉🐾 We’re so grateful for those of you who have opened your home to be a Storm Foster, to keep an innocent animal safe from the flood waters as they rise, and providing a warm loving place to land for a few days♥️

🐾 Exciting News! 🐾 For many experiencing homelessness, their pets are a crucial source of companionship and comfort. However, accessing veterinary care and pet-friendly accommodations can be extremely challenging while living on the streets. That's why StreetLink , StreetVet & Street Paws are joining forces to ensure the wellbeing of both homeless individuals living on the streets and their animal companions. Together, we can ensure that no person or pet is left behind on the path out of homelessness and towards stability. For more information on how to get involved or to learn about reporting rough sleeping effectively, please visit thestreetlink.org.uk . #HomelessPets #PetRescue

Being a pet owner, it's important to think add your furry family members when you create a Will. If you don't, and something unexpected occurs, your cherished furry friend might end up in an animal shelter if their is no one to care for them. Fortunately, you can easily prevent this by having a plan that includes guardians for your pet, and you can include money to cover their care. #ConfidenceWills #PetsInWills #PetsAreFamily

Earlier in my public service career along with my parks team, I explored animal shelter diversion when I didn't yet know what it was. Once I made the transition to animal services I implemented that program and more in a quest to end the killing of companion animals in my community. Healthy pets do not belong in animal shelters if we can keep them with their families and find alternatives. The shelter environment, try as we might, is a place where one behavior incident or disease outbreak could cost them their lives. This article is part of Best Friends Animal Society no-kill 101 series, where we discuss crucial ways that each of us can be part of ending the practice of killing pets in our local shelters. It’s to clarify what no-kill in animal sheltering is and what it isn’t. Our goal at Best Friends is for all shelters in all communities to reach no-kill in 2025, and residents in every community play a key role. It's short. Please give it a read and share with those that might benefit from it.
