Heart on Main Street is raising money to help retailers impacted by recent storms throughout the US. In the last two weeks, deadly tornados have affected entire communities and destroyed locally-owned businesses in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and Texas. This year alone, already hundreds of locally-owned independent retail stores have become victims of natural disasters. These unexpected disasters have affected retailers in every part of the country. While businesses are insured, there is often a gap between the cost of recovery and what they are paid out. This leaves retailers on the hook for thousands of dollars if they want to re-open their store and remain a part of the community. Independent retailers are huge drivers of the local economy and helping these retailers recover brings hope back to these affected communities. They bring a sense of normalcy to areas that have lost so much. We would love to help as many retailers and communities as possible, so, if you are able, please consider making a donation to Heart on Main Street, and help these communities recover. https://lnkd.in/gtdW9Tef
Did you know? Even a small donation can make a big difference in the lives of those impacted by the tornadoes. Here at Heart on Main Street, we believe in the power of community. Join us in supporting the recovery efforts in Oklahoma and Nebraska. Together, we can show the strength and compassion of our retail community. Donate now: https://lnkd.in/g7-tixGe

Did you know that donating stock can significantly impact the lives of Native Elders, children, and families – all while saving you money in the process? Here’s how: 👉 When you donate your appreciated assets (stock), you avoid paying capital gains tax. 👉 If you itemize deductions, you can also take a charitable deduction for the entire donation amount. 👉 You can donate a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) through your IRA and reduce your taxable income. Less than a week has passed and we're staring at another storm approaching the very same region. One of the ways to ensure emergency response orgs are able to meet communities where they are, at a moment's notice, is to become a monthly donor. Yes, even $5 a month helps an organization have sustained impact. Whether you give to Feeding America or another organization of your choice, please always consider breaking down that larger one-time gift into smaller monthly installments. https://lnkd.in/gj_xX4eb For disaster-specific donations: https://lnkd.in/gzVBP9V3

Strike Out T1D with Us This Weekend! Get ready to roll with purpose! This Sunday, November 10th, Leyton and I are hitting the lanes at Victory Bowl in Mankato for the fourth annual Strike Out T1D event. We’re excited to be bowling to raise funds for Camp Sweetlife, an incredible nonprofit camp that supports kids with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in living full, empowered lives. Why Camp Sweetlife? Camp Sweetlife isn’t just a camp—it’s a life-changing experience. It’s a place where kids with T1D get to be kids, enjoying all the classic camp adventures, surrounded by counselors and medical staff who truly understand what they're going through. Our goal is to eventually make this camp free for any T1D kid, ensuring no child misses out on this experience due to financial reasons. Here’s How You Can Help! You can support our team in a few ways: Pledge Per Strike: Donate per strike our team throws (like $0.50 per strike). Example: $0.50 x 50 strikes = $25. Pledge with a Cap: Donate per strike but with a max amount, like $0.50 per strike up to a $20 donation. Flat Donation: Keep it easy and give a set amount for the event! To contribute, you can donate directly to Camp Sweetlife here https://lnkd.in/gVmM3fZU or Venmo me, and I’ll make sure it reaches them. or, like and share this post to make sure it reaches as many people as possible. Together, let’s show kids with T1D that nothing can hold them back!
